Her credits wont just automatically go up, she will receive trade dividend vouchers which need to be claimed via one of the contacts panel entries on the station services menu. If she was not getting those either then it's a bug, reform the wing and sell a ton to see if a trade dividend is received, if yes, sell the rest, if no, log everybody out and try again until they start coming through.

Shouldn't do...
I've Winged up and commed with people more than 170Ly away.
If your experiences are anything like mine:
- You will rarely even see another player on your scanner, once you move outside the heavily populated starting system areas
- You will be very lucky if you get any response to your hails.
- You will be even luckier if they're up for Winging with you.
Most players I see run away, or ignore me. No idea why.
I have occasionally met players at Resource Extraction Sites, but they were only there for the same thing as me and we mostly ignored each other.
There may be the occasional instance where a player interdicts you and pirates you, murders you or generally does something nasty, but it's usually perfectly valid and justified in-game (they're a pirate, you're a trader, etc...).
It's only if someone does the same thing frequently to purposely destroy your game that it becomes a problem and, while this has happened in a few instances, it's very rare... But you can just put them on Ignore and/ or report them.
I have only once known a player get utterly hunted down, interdicted up the wazoo and blown to smithereens with anything resembling speed or malice... and *I* was the one purposely maliciously battering them to pieces, because they kept sitting on our shoulders and stealing our kills in a RES. When someone is in a Sidewinder and putting in enough effort to drop a Deadly Anaconda completely by themselves, it's very bad form to sweep in and just nick the kill at 1% hull from them. Once is possibly a mistake, but doing it repeatedly will get the Sidey's mates coming to stomp on yer daddy-bags!!
Eagle worth it for Combat?
HELL YES!!
It's THE most manoeuvrable ship in the game anyway but, properly outfitted, an Eagle will run rings around and kick the butt of any NPC up to Python level with surprising ease... and I'm not exactly an amazing pilot, either!
You will want top notch power plant, shields, power distributor, thrusters... pretty much everything. I liked the military spec armour and chose a beam laser with twin multi-cannons.
For Bounty-Hunting, you're limited on mount space and cannot have both KWS and Wake Scanner, so I'd suggest the KWS - You may not be able to chase a target that escapes you, but those you do take down will still bring extra bounties in other systems.
Either way, you'll want an FSD Interdictor.

This is the exact reason I ran a Sidey when I was faffing with killing people, see an Eagle and they know you are trouble, same to a point in a Cobra as well, everytime I have been interdicted its been a Cobra, run a Sidey and they think you are a noob..

To me, Eagle and Sidewinder are pretty much the same anyway. Eagle usually has stronger shields, but the hull is made of cheese, yet both require about the same overall Time On Target to drop so there's virtually nothing betwixt 'em.

I made a fair amount of money quite fast by smuggling when I first started playing - 50,000 - 100,000 just for taking 2 t of cargo to a system 1 jump away!
If I got scanned while entering a station then I paid a fine which was very small compared to the reward on offer.
As for the trading site, tyr Thrudds Elite Trading Tool - helped me no end to begin with.

I was expecting to get blown up for smuggling illegal goods but you pay a small fine only?
There is no offline mode its all the same in solo u just dont see other people. There still there and affect ur market.
Up until a certain point then i think the fines turn into bounties if u dont pay them.

All data sold at Lembava. I don't think I'll ever go out that far again. Some frustrating times when the Galaxy routing auto selected non scoopable Stars one after the other and if I didn't pay attention I could have run out of fuel... Happy with the extra cash though!

The only difference between solo and open play is whether you see other players or not, everything else is identical and you are free to swap between the three modes (solo, private group and open) as much as you like with no penalties whatsoever.
Nice, how long did that trip take in real time?

It must have been in the region of around 50/60 hours of play. I was scanning everything for the first 10000ly's but started to get very selective the longer I was out there!
