And I'm lost in space with a full hold and no fuel. Oops.

Had to self destruct.

I take it as I'm light years away from my Sidey I actually have to travel to whoever I left it?

No worries :) Even though i get worse performance i still prefer to play in open for the added unpredictability and danger.

I read on the frontier forums there is a clan called The Fuel Rats who will help any stranded CMDRS who have run out of fuel thats pretty cool!

Now we just need a CMDR police force who can warp in to help ambushed traders! :D

Yup - go over to fuelrats.org for more info. There is lots of information on what to do in case you run out of fuel, plus an IRC channel to raise the ratsignal. So far 28 rescues against 4 losses, not bad going - even made Galnet!

Oh and it's not a clan - it's an anarchic collective :)

Nooooooo....!

Call the fuelrats - honestly people can get to you so quickly. I did a training run and jumped 500LY in 20 mins to drop fuel into a stranded Sidey.

Go to the web-site above and read the instructions - Someone will be with you to help. Oh and in a HUGE dose of irony... The call is becoming "For the Mischief!"

(mischief being a group of rats)

I will remember that next time. Don't think my Hauler is really big enough for doing any major trading so might just stick with the Sidey or consider an Eagle and go bounty hunting.

Sold my hauler and picked up an Eagle. Not a huge jump over the Sidey but the third Hardpoint is handy. Will stick to making some cash for a bit and maybe go for one of the big haulers much later on.

Was chatting to Groove_UK and he had to change to Fastest in Gal Map every time...
Like I had to until this weekend!

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Player
folder. There is some files with this settings of visibility.
Just deleted the whole folder for sure, game remade this on start, options by default. Clicking\changing all this settings, restarted ED - voila, it's saved! Tried 3 times.

If you take a look at this folder, you'll find a file .misc. There is ALL the Galaxy Map settings, including Functions menu(that is on the right in the ship).
The problem was really the file Custom.misc, that's not recreated after folder deletion. There was the same settings from 1.2.07 that overriding new .misc settings.

Basically rename the Custom.misc (or delete) - Turret settings, Gal Map settings etc all saved for when you next login!!

Awesome!

Seriously, just do a few smuggling missions. I earn't enough cash to get myself a Cobra Mk III in no time and then started trading with that. You can make up to 100k for carrying 2 t cargo 1 over short jump, and if you are in a fairly quiet system you never get interdicted.

The way I understand it, and I may be wrong - I often am!

If you convert a system to a particular power then you get certain benefits in that system, like a % increase in trade profits depending on your standing with that power.

You also get a weekly wage of 1,000cr for your part in converting systems. I have delivered the required 100 propoganda to a space port and now receive a 1,000 cr per week for my effort - it's not much I know, but the additional funds isn't the reason I'm converting it so it's just gravy.

Oh and I nearly forgot - you get in more skirmishes when travelling through systems which are controlled by opposing powers. Makes life more intersting.

Ive heard so much negativity towards PP, especially if your a casual player and with time restraints you wont really gain a lot etc.

My main issue is not actually knowing a reason to join any of the 10 powers thats around to be honest.

i joined laviny-duval as at rank 2 you get 50% bonus to bounties handed in.

takes about 30 mins to get 100 merits to reach 2.

Swapped the top mount on the Eagle from a fixed Pulse laser to a gimballed Multi-Cannon and it's much better. Power usage from only 2 Lasers is far better and once their shield is down the cannon just shreds lower class ships. A shame the bloody security vessels keep turning up at the navigation beacons and stealing my kills!

Go find a resource extraction site, usually to be found in metallic rings.

Yeah heard they're better for pirates and the like. Need to find one though! Started a wing with a couple of other people too as I've ventured into group play. Some of the stations are very busy, waited around ten minutes to dock.

Ha! Awesome post, but a sad indictment of modern man :D
Hey, I'd happily take all three... at once!

Friend of mine made over a million in a few hours, flying just a Hauler.
You can upgrade it to carry as much as 22T if you config it right, or switch to an Adder if you want something similar while retaining shields and being armed as well.

I think I'm right in saying that as long as you are in a safe place, you can log off relog back on in solo mode and dock pretty much straight away.
