Right quick question :)

Ive only ever mined in my 'conda, fancy trying some PvE with it, what would be a good basis to go with kit wise. I currently only own a C8 Power Module ( not quite fancy rich lol)

Stick a couple of C3 beam lasers and a couple of cannons. The Gimballed can eat away at the power but with careful choices, you could run 3 C3 lasers.
 
Would you just stick with gimballed, or look into turrets?

I ran with fixed beam for most of the time and wouldn't run turrets for lasers as they will cook your reactor. Stick Cannon's as turrets but choose either gimballed or fixed beams for the 2 large hard points.
 
Very pleased with my Python. Gimbled Pulse lasers (first time using them, always used beam lasers n heat syncs.

Shield boosters, shield cell banks, sitting in a HIRES untouchable.... Next stop Combat.... I am not sure that will be as easy with multiple high rank contacts. Might refit a vulture for that when I have money.... Only need 19 M and that can be done today.
 
Beta incoming for 7pm :D

I know many of you have been waiting extremely patiently for the 1.5 “Ships” beta to come out this week.

The beta is coming today, and there is a lot in there! The team have been working long hours to get it ready, and it’s nearly time. So get ready, the cargo has been loaded, the docking request has been granted and we’re aiming for a 7pm delivery. We decided not to wait until next week to make the beta live as we know how incredibly valuable the extra weekend of testing is.

This means we’re really looking for your help. Our beta testers have been incredibly helpful throughout the past year and we’re asking for your service as beta members again. With Horizons coming on the… well horizon, we really need your feedback on a lot of new code that’s gone in under the hood.

So to all our fantastic beta players - please do play, test and most importantly feedback on our beta forum here and report your bugs here.

Just to add to what Zac just said, a huge thank you to the team that have worked long and hard on this build.

They have done a great job, so please be constructive with any comments. There is a lot of new code, and I’m sure there will be problems on some machines. We have just heard of an infrequent task-switching bug on Mac, but have decided to go ahead anyway rather than delay the build. I will be playing over the weekend too, so let’s thrash this build properly!
 
Looking at approx 200 million without discounts for Corvette and Cutter by the looks of it, some nice tweaks in 1.5. System map tooltips moved out of the way, % rank bars (which don't seem to be working yet) and navigation panel filters are my favourites so far.
