******* The "official" Essential iPad Apps thread (with stars) *******

Plays none of my movies flawlessly :(

Says "Cannot play this file" and they are just standard xvid .avi
I've tried one and it worked, the other was AC3 so it couldn't. Though they say it will be in an update along with mkv files. But surely this will be taken of the app store so umm.

I don't understand how its even doing it...its obviously not converting it so somehow just letting the files sync.... small things like that make the product so much better

NFS Shift is pretty great. Only played one race but just from that i'm sure it will be great. I do wish though these racing games had the option so you can use your ipod touch/iPhone to control the cars (bluetooth) one helicopter game has, it just makes it nicer as obviously after a while of holding the iPad in a driving position you can feel it on the hands.

N.O.V.A Near orbit.... only 59p right now, it was like £7 apparently. Not really ever played any sort of shooting game like this but for that price why not.
72 5* reviews, its number 2 on top paid charts

Does anyone here have OmniFocus for iPad? I'm trying to decide whether to take the plunge on a £25 app which seems to have stellar reviews. I've never used a GTD tool before but I tend to lead a busy and task-driven life so the idea appeals to me!

Not really looked at it myself properly but its damn expensive.. Would never need it myself as im not really busy! And the calendar app and notes would be fine for me. Im sure the app does a lot more though

Well, in the end I decided that the best way to find out if I needed it was to buy it, with the idea of applying for a refund if I really didn't get on with it.

If anyone's interested I will post some thoughts once I've been using the app a little while and have really got to grips with it. At the moment it's just a big long to-do list which is not terribly organised, but I'm sure things will shape up in the next week or two :)

Your not going to get a refund if it turns out you just don't like an App... ;)
