The *Official* Eve Online Thread

I've started wanted a supercarrier with these new changes... They look much more interesting to fly now. I could afford one, but I couldn't afford to replace it.... so I'll stick with Carriers for now :p
Some alliance mates used theirs the other day, got the second Titan kill since the patch, it dies so quickly. They engaged a enemy capital fleet that clearly hadn't had their ships refitted for the changes. The Titan had a fraction of the EHP it would have had pre-patch due to lack of plates! Buffer on the carriers and dreads without plates is low enough now that 2-3 Nags/Phoenix will potentially alpha through armour/shield on a average fit
Also, Solo PvP Titans are a thing: :D

If you ever get a super make sure to have another PVP char and a holding alt. Trust me on this!
Interesting new changes, really wish I had the time to play properly again. Corp I was a director in is pretty much dormant nowadays (and my main char is stuck in the corp titan :s).

With the changes supers are going to be quite a lot more "common" :s

I never got as far as a super of my own on TQ but I probably went a bit overkill in terms of having a support setup as well as additional characters to play on heh - by the time I quit as well as 4-5 cyno alts (another thing you really want) I had an emergency bailout setup of links/dps thanny, 2x widow alts and triage archon for if I got around to a super of my own or to support friends/corp - one of the things that made me sad was seeing solo supers die without trying to put up a fight.

With the XL Citadel you'll be able to dock supers up, so some of the old ideas of a Super pretty much being a coffin are less so now. Granted it's still a big commitment. If I do it I'll either buy/make a sitter char and fly it on a main or spend a bit more on a dedicated pilot. Certainly wouldn't want to have to either leave a main in it or have it at the mercy of a Citadel being blown up. We're jumping back and forth between null regions and wormhole space so if I was to have one I'd need to be mobile. For now I'll just skill up a char to fly it well so I have the option, all the skills I'm training right now are applicable to base Carriers anyway :)

Even more common? Damn. I remember the days of capital introduction and when seeing a carrier or dread was "special".
Oh yes, many accounts with cyno alts on dotted all over the place, that was always fun!

Haven't played in ages, the cap jump changes were quite interesting. Sod trying to move a super with that now. Was painful enough with the titan and jump cal 5.

Wish I had thought of the bailout carrier, I ended up loosing my Aeon after logging on without an alt at a pos that no longer existed (should have known better I know, but just come back from a corp "op" in Lisbon and the alliance had started crumbling :)). Worst excuse I know! Got hictor bubbled, hot dropped and panic logoffskied.
Actually that's about the same time I stopped playing :D

That is one of the aspects I don't like about the capital changes - they are designed to be used (including making them more affordable and accessible to actually use) without replacing that thing that was "special" (even if carriers had started to become more common in general).

I noticed that 9 times out of 10 people lose supers while moving them without backup to just 1 or 2 initial tackle - often with the hostile backup a few minutes out either due to not knowing exactly which alt the super would jump to and/or so as not to give the game away to any scouts the super pilot might have out so I really wanted to be able to deal with initial tackle if it ever came to it (would also have ships in the carrier for killing small stuff like dictors).

For some fun, I've been running L3 missions in a Vexor, swapping hardeners to suit as needed. It makes a change from going into these missions in a massively overpowered ship.

Medium Armour Repairer II
Reactive Armour Hardener
Armour Thermal Hardener II
Armour Kinetic Hardener II
Drone Damage Amplifier II

2 x Cap Recharger II
10MN Afterburner II
Drone Navigation Computer II

4 x 200mm Railgun II

3 x medium CCC I

Hammerhead II x6
Hobgoblin II x7

I've also been doing some L3 missions as of late in a Worm. As you say, lot more fun this way.

[Worm, Worm fit]

Drone Damage Amplifier II
Capacitor Power Relay II

Pithi C-Type Small Shield Booster
Shield Boost Amplifier II
X5 Enduring Stasis Webifier
1MN Afterburner II

Rocket Launcher II, Scourge Rocket
Rocket Launcher II, Scourge Rocket
Rocket Launcher II, Scourge Rocket

Small Capacitor Control Circuit II
Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer II
Small Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer II

Warrior II x2
Warrior II x3

Do you need the webber on that fit? Seems like a redundant module to me.

Yes, it slows the faster ships (normally frigates) down so the DPS can be applied better. It also helps control my range on the faster ships (especially drones) as I have to be within a 8.8km range for my rockets to hit.

Warriors are fast enough to keep up with the frigs, i'd probably drop the web for a damage specific ward field/ LSE depending on where you are ratting if the fit allows.

Sure Warriors will be able to keep up, but the web will always help them apply to smaller targets, likewise with the rockets. If he's not struggling for tank the web is more useful.

In other news, had some fun last night. We found a mining op of ex-blues (unblued maybe a week ago) - they ignored us until it was too late. lol

Like shooting fish in a barrel :D

Just created the account, hopefully if I manage to survive past the 21 days & sub, then you might get a little kick back.

Onwards & upwards - Streaming some Noob gameplay on my Twitch channel soon. :)

Everyone feel free to drop by - point & laugh at my mistakes or alternatively offer some good advice :D

What is your ingame name? I can give you some guidance, though i live in wormhole space so wont be super able to come and play directly with you.

Your own mini hulkageddon lol.

Just come back to the game after a few years out.. Damn wtf has been going on. A few points:

- Spent ages thinking my good old Thanatos had gone missing but no, They are now Support Carriers... Going to have to find out what these are.
- I can actually find industry slots for BPO research in empire....
- Jita is well, still Jita
- Research agents charge for datacores.... sigh..
- My iteron is now a Miasmos plus loads more changes

This game has changed quite a bit, but time to get my Corp Back on the Road, looking forward to getting back into it.

Can someone post a status update regarding thr recent conflict? As I understand, the biggest alliance was attacked by lots of smaller ones. Is the war still going, who is winning?

Lost track of a lot of the Goon war, Goons didn't really put up any fight so interest drifted off from many parties. Was a bit of an anticlimax!

As for a Citadel - we've got one in our wormhole. Shiny :D

Only been following it 3rd hand but looks like the biggest alliance fell back to more strategic positions and while they were on the back foot the parties arrayed against them didn't push for a killer blow so its kind of frizzled into a lukewarm war.
