The *Official* Eve Online Thread

For some fun, I've been running L3 missions in a Vexor, swapping hardeners to suit as needed. It makes a change from going into these missions in a massively overpowered ship.
Fun that it was, it wasn't earning enough cash or giving me big enough explosions so I'm back doing level 4s.

I actually enjoy playing Eve solo, with just friendly chat channels for company.

Can someone post a status update regarding thr recent conflict? As I understand, the biggest alliance was attacked by lots of smaller ones. Is the war still going, who is winning?

Only been following it 3rd hand but looks like the biggest alliance fell back to more strategic positions and while they were on the back foot the parties arrayed against them didn't push for a killer blow so its kind of frizzled into a lukewarm war.

Nice summary.

The 'parties arrayed' didn't push for a killer blow because there wasn't one available when they were advancing. Aside from taking and holding all the sov of course.

Now after the capital changes and citadels being added there are more ways to get footholds for both sides.

Not that either side seems bothered anymore. I'm in agreement with most; Fozziesov is boring.

They could have gone after production facilities i.e. supers, etc. much more than they did - could have seriously impacted and/or set goons back more without having to take all sov which to me makes it feel a bit like the whole thing is being a bit orchestrated to produce "content" (I've not been following it that closely so may be mistaken but at facevalue seemed like a few times punches were pulled that would have had a far more serious impact on goons). Though looks like somewhat they were holding off for citadels.

Goons are pretty much gone from the map, there is no foothold or strategic position. They live in saranen now which is a lowsec system and get camped there all the time while bleeding members daily. The killing blow was not dealt because they gave up very early.

They lost trillions in production facilities, there is nothing left. The sov was taken because its great space that people wanted to move into. There has been so much drama, hate, tears, propaganda, betrayals. You've really missed a lot of stuff. Goons have become pretty much irrelevant and their super fleet which is the biggest one the game had ever seen is scattered and trapped in space that they no longer own. It's taking a bit of time for them to realise what has happened and move on to some space that nobody wants and try to rebuild.

Caldari smell. It's true.

Minmatar fix everything with duck tape. If you had to choose between the two, you'd be crazy to end up a missile spamming Caldari *****.

Soo I haven't played EVE since the Titans were introduced way back when.

Seems like a lot has changed. Part of me is always tempted to sell everything and create a new char. My current one never did have good skill points for some reason.

Oh man so much has changed since Titans were introduced! Different game now really. You can effectively change your skills through skill extractors and injectors (within reason) so I'd recommend atleast looking at your old character properly before writing it off.

Am battling with 'forgotten passwords' to see if I can view the character online, will post his specs to see what you think? :)

With all the recent changes it is basically WoW in space :p.

Never played WoW so I'm not sure how you mean :p

Anyway, need an active account to view the character details. Ah well will shelve it for a while. Not important right now :)

Lately loads of mechanics that they said would never be dumbed down, etc. have been dumbed down and so on and gimmicky crowd pleasing features or changes made that they always said would never happen.

I see! fair enough :)

I went on their site for a laugh, saw the video and it made me want to sign back up!

Maybe in a few months when I have more time...
