The *Official* Eve Online Thread

I love the depth of this game but I do feel like I could never start this as it's sooooooo huge. I listened to a story the other day where a guy conned a fleet out of millions of credits.

Thinking about heading back to eve over winter :)

Thinned my accounts down and sold all my super's and titan. Currently have 3 active accounts, In TSK and Test. Might get a titan again if test start using armour :)
I've only kept one account active, fairly new and fly nothing bigger than a battlecruiser. Everything else seems pointless to be honest and a huge waste of (gaming) time.

I had a lot of fun with T3s, marauders, carriers and dreads up until they started making changes around 2015 - looking at the changes now I doubt I'd even bother with them if I was starting the game now. Capitals are/were a pain logistics wise (bit easier if you were part of a nullsec/lowsec collective of any size) but when a plan came together a lot of fun.

Dreads are the most disposable ships atm, carriers and supers mainly for isk making. Really no point.

Used to be amusing to use them on C5s for ISK making - bit slower than dumping dreads but eh was kind of fun. Disposable dreads aren't really new though - even years back dread bombs were done by the bigger groups that could replace them easily - I miss days like the screenshot below - can't really go back to that in the game anymore.

What is this game like now? not played for years just installed it again, what is the manufacturing side like now, used to do this with my one of my char. Noticed that I have over 700 plex in my plex vault.

Manufacturing and empire building has never been better if you are into that.

Its good. I started in 2004 and played a lot until 2010ish and only came back about 18 months ago. I joined a big null sec entity and for a fairly casual player (e.g. RL priorities incl. family, work etc. so my time is limited) it's a great place to be. I can make ISK, I can do some industry work, I jump on fleets that are both fun roams and strategic plays against our enemies. They've also got a great community both online and through Discord and the forums. It's well worth coming back and checking the game out, especially as it's now free to play to a certain degree.

Seems to be lots changed since I last played, is there a way to find which plants you have setup your space centres on? I did have loads of these, but can't remember which plants! :)

Edit - Found it now hah

I've just downloaded EVE again. I've never really got into it in the past but I'm hoping that this time around I'll be able to learn the game finally. Although I'm going to start off with a brand new character so I start at the beginning.

Make sure you find a good corp to join. Maybe someone like Eve University (if they still exist) and you want to learn the ropes. You really need to be in a corp to get the most from the game.

Thanks for the tip. I'll play through the tutorial and the first Sisters of EVE missions so that I can learn the basics of the interface again (for some reason I've always found the interface of EVE Online confusing) and then I'll look for a Corp. I do seem to remember EVE University from when I last played the game, so that sounds like a solid choice.
