um actually the whole point of me starting a new thread was to keep that one simple and not actually to fill it with extensive complicated posts (hence the note at the end of the post?). So thanks for that one :rolleyes: . The great thing about this thread is the last page button.
 
Agree, this thread has kind of become "The greate OcUK EVE pow wow" just carry on using this thread, and link to that thread as and when someone asks a question, or seems lost in this thread.
 
Another random question :o

Concerning isk farmers, if i jet a can next to theres and move stuff from there can to mine will i get flagged ? I always assumed i would be :confused:
In another thread it was commented that you move it to your can and then hope they try and move it back to there cargohold as that would get them flagged ?
 
I joined the Snigglets (Sniggwaffe) last week looking for a bit of piracy action. Thought it would relieve stress and so on.

Oh how wrong I was. Its endlessly infuriating wen someone manages to warp away even though me and a gang mate have stacked a pair of 2 point scrams on them. :mad: Excessive Stabs for the lose.

And on a random note, the Arbitrator does not make a very good pirating ship, expecially against missile users. :( Think I'll replace it with a Brutix or Rupture.

Right, what you want to do is...

1) Jet your can beside theirs. Just jet out one unit of Trit or something.
2) The miner wont touch this, as its not worth him being flagged for 15mins to you
3) Note where the nearest planet is. Align yourself so that your ship is in font of your can, and the planets centre shows as being begind the can.
4) Fly 15 km away from your can, keeping the planets centre lined up with the centre of the can and also your ship. (Basiclly Planet ---> Can ---> Ship 15 km onward)
5) Dump a Bookmark at this location.
7) Fly back to your can. Transfer all the minerals from the miners can into your can. He'll probably start smacktalking at this point, if hes not a macro miner. Who cares, do it anyway. :p
8) Warp to the nearest Planet (the one you used for placing the bookmark)
9) The Miner will 80% of the time think you've gone to get a hauler to steal his minerals.
10) Once you are out of warp, double left click off to one side of the belt that you just came from, so that you are moving toward t at full sub-warp speed.
11) Open Scanner. Set angle to 30*. Point your screen direcly at the belt you are now flying towards.
12) Keep scanning.
13) The Instant your can dissappears from the scanner, warp to the bookmark you made in that belt.
14) In warp, activate your Warp scram so its blinking on and off and you get the targeting cursor. Active your high slots too, you may as well.
15) Once out of warp, there will be someone there flashing red.
16) Click on them. Your ship will automatically target, lock, and active all modules you turned on.
17) Kill or ransom as you wish, with impunity. You'll even get away with it in high sec systems, seeing as they stole from your can. They cant even get any backup to stop you, as their backup will be concordokened.
18) Prepare for hatemail. This is the best part.

Note: I no longer do this personally, as it is against my corp rules, and pretty lame. But then again, when I was new, it was endless fun watching the miners realise they made a very silly mistake. You might got good loot if you get to pop a mining barge, those strip miners sell for a million each. Try ransoming first though, as there is a chance the lot will be destroyed.

Well, i've been running missions in my ferox for a couple weeks now and i've just put in an order for my last two arby launchers. Those coupled with T2 shield extenders and T2 BCU and T2 Invulnerbility/selected hardners (sp?) shields when I get my setup "perfect" will mean i'll be flying around with in exese of 60ish million if not more plus insurance costs :eek: .

I just gota ask, does flying around with this amount of isk invested in moduals make anyone else just a little bit nervous even while running missions? I think i'll wait a loooong time before I take this ship out into 0.0 space, as compared to the very replace able carcal I was using before :p
And another question, does anybody know how well this ship survives in 0.0, especially when coupled with dual T2 invunrable shield hardners. How its tank holds up to your typical T1/T2 frigate attack, or cruiser. And whether it deals enough damage to break the tank of anything other than npcs. And which is better on extended 0.0 runs, 5 light drones (I can only use 3 atm, but moving up to 4 soon and then at somepoint 5), or 2 mediums and 1 light? Pretty much the survivability of this ship, seeing that at its 160m/s its not exactly fast or agile and could have a problem running away from most conflicts, as I used to do in my carcal.

lol, I think i've got enough questions for now :p

pvp wise fight in what you can afford to loose and what your most comfortable in, also with an eye on whats needed (tackler/ew/anti frig or damage etc) then fit for that, from experience 2-3 taranis's will cause you a lot more trouble than a 3bs spawn out in 0.0 if your in an npc'ing ferox.

first time down to deep 0.0 in my battleship - ran a small bubble and found a domination bs spawn at a gate 4 minutes before dt :)

that was just on the route down there :)

A Ferox using precision heavies will make VERY short work of those Taranis :(

how many ships can you fly!! you've already quoted rupture, brutix, arbie, ferox, geddon :D im assuming you can shield tank fairly well, what weapon specs have you got any how many sp?

While its true this thread is intimidating, beginning again in anouther will only lead to the same problem a few months down the line. Its better to have every thing collated in a single thread. The search function doesnt take people to the specific post mentioning a search for keyword. Meaning people have to search EVERY page.

Ive been flicking through a few pages to get a feel and understanding of EVE (among using MANY other websites and forums). Ive got so many questions as a potential Eve player. So many I really dont know where to begin lol! :D
As mentioned with regard to the search function limitations; I will be posting my questions eventually and while I apologise if they repeat what has already been discussed, I do not apologise for the fact I wont read every page of a 200+ post thread. :eek:

I fly all races T1 up to BC. (Because I have BC lvl 4).

I went through a period of not knowing what I actually wanted to fly. Trying out a good selection from them all help me decide. Cant stand Caldari or shield tanking in general, push off back to Star Trek you bunch of ponces :p Seriously though....its because I hate haveing to juggle mids beteen Tank and Other Stuff. I fly Minnmatar Industrails. The Mammoth rocks. :)

Decided I want to Specialise in Amarr now, and could theoritecly fly an Apoc. (I have the skills for it) But think I'd rather wait till I get a load of ancillary skills up a lot higher first. Otherwise I'll just be throwing 100Million in the bin. I guess I could buy one for mission running....but they are extremelt dull. Plus the only agent I have at Lvl 4 is Minmatar, and shooting Angels with Lasers is a bit of a long and drawn out process.

I have high Perc/Will, so Spaceship Command skills are quick to train, and had a full set of +2's in for a long time (got given them at the start), and went all out on learning quite quickly.

Guns, I can shoot all types up to cruiser lever, but none are Tech 2. Can also use Large Lasers now, my missile shills are a bit crap though, another reason why Caldari didnt work out for me. All my gunnery skills are at Lvl 3 or 4. Can use Tech 2 mining lasers, but that was only so I could help out in an old corps Mining Ops.

Think i'm working in Advanced Weapon Upgrades right now, and wow.....get this skill as soon as you can. Guns chew up Powergrid, and the ammount you get back with this skill is fantastic!

btw, just killed some Republic Fleet RP guy and got some nice loot (inc T2 heavy cap booster),
if you see these guys and want to attack em, CONCORD WILL NOT RESPOND!

The *** will support the ECM. If you do it right you won't even need to turn your repper on.

High I would go with 2 med n o s, 2 small n o s.
Med would be scram, web, tracking disruptor and a caldari jammer.

Low would be, small armour rep, 2 energized adaptive nanos 2 and an 800mm plate (no idea if that size plate fits or not though :P).

Use a mix of Light and Medium drones, 5 of each.

Warriors and Hammerheads are a good bet, T2 versions are an even better idea!

So many people underestimate the Arbitrator because it doesn't kill instantly. It's a good ship that is capable of incapacitating your enemy and slowly killing them.

Thats how i started out with ribbo, he's a jack of all trades really and i wish i'd done a pure caldari/gallante pvp char with him :(
