The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Ah I see, and obviously an Alliance is formed by corps joining together?

an alliance, as you state, is an official collection of corps. It costs something like a billion isk to create and brings benefits from unifying standings, alliance war decs, the ability to take sovereignty (claim 0.0 space) etc.

also enix might want to read the FAQ on sig rules, quite strict here but welcome to the forums, see you in space :D

Gah should have read the rules... didn't imagine there was any board harsher on sigs then eve-o ^^

Anyway thanks for the welcome.

I must confess I'm very impressed with most of the alliance logos. All look like a lot of thought and time have gone into them. A couple of them are a tad bit too busy IMO, like The Phantom Conglomerate's one.
Ones I like the most:

Razor : Neat, effective, straightforward.
Ascendant Frontier: Okay, I'm probably biased but I think its one of the better ones.
Iron: Gives a clear impression of what they're about, uncomplicated and well presented.

Anyone want to fund their Eve Account for free?

I just brought a timecard for 30 days which cost me 110million ISK. It sounds a lot but it's only 10 hours or so (if that) NPC'in in 0.0.

I found a seller on the Eve Forums and for sale channel and then convo'd him. Sent the ISK and he mailed me the code, then just enter that to the subscription area on the official site.

If it works out that they send you a bad code and scam you then you can report them to CCP, get your ISK back and they get in big trouble.

End of the day it saves me nearly a tenner a month so im happy :).

oh it's going to get warm in this thread ;)

good on you mate, who did you get it off? i've been thinking about doing that for some of my chars.

Why'd ya say it's gona get warm in here?

Off the top of my head I can't remember who I got it from but i'll check when in online and tell ya. He seemed genuine and unlike many of the sellers he was in a real corp, not a starter/npc corp as for all we know those selling from NPC corps are probably fakes.

I had to spend ISK on a time card once because of some serious screw ups between pay-by-cash, paypal and the rest of the world. That was a one-off. Never again.

I'd rather quit the game than use in-game currency to pay for playing it. That makes it a chore to have to make the cash to pay for the card. No thanks.

I wasn't asking you to buy them off me :p .

I just think i'll find it much better myself, spending two days NPC'in for game time and be ten pounds better off :D

Im sure that if CCP thought that this would ruin the ingame economy it wouldn't be allowed. Seen as it's perfectly legal in their eyes im happy :) .
No, CCP are blinded by the cha-ching of the GTC sales.

If you can't see how it ruins the game, not just in-game economy, more fool you. :)

I've stated my argument about it before a page of two back, so I'm not going to repeat it.

oooo!

me want, because I enjoy supporting those who are too lazy to make their own money in game ;)

Muhahaha
Sadly I'm poor and lazy :(

/me awaits a flood of messages to some poor sod with the username chrisb in game :D :D

Thanks for all your opinions ;). The way I see it is that with no real income I have to either fork out £10.23 per month or £122.76 per year to play a game that is updated on a regular basis, has good support and I find entertaining yet is down for one hour every day.

Alternatlivly I can join the other say 15-25% of the eve community who can live in 0.0 or have high ingame incomes from NPC'in, running missions, mercs? etc and then join the further 5-10% of people that spend their ingame currency on game time.

To me, that sounds a fair deal. CCP takes a minor hit in econmic terms and someone ingame gets pretty rich, pretty fast through selling GTC that they brought from CCP in the first place. It also should be noted that many of those selling the cards are fairly new characters of which will more than likely flying expensive equipment that they can't use properly. Alternativly their ferrying the money to a main character who goes to buy more ships and more equipment for me to go and blow up.

Just my 2 cents.
