The *Official* Eve Online Thread

If you can, set the autopilot so that it travels through safe space and avoids the 0.4's and lower. To do this, go to the map and then autopilot settings and have a play in there.

Loading the lows 4 plates isn't a good idea, neither is fitting a shield booster to an armour tanking ship.

Try something along the lines of,
8 x dual-light beams
1 x afterburner
1 x small armour rep
1 x 200mm Plate
1 Heat Sink
1 Capacitor Power Relay

I don't know weather you will be able to fit this or not but at least this gives you a place to start. As you aren't starting in the right place at the moment with those 4 plate shieldboosting setups :p

Im intrigued to know how two frigs managed to pop you...even travelling in lowsec its near on impossible for frigs to kill ships under sentry fire at gates or stations...you didnt happen to go explore lowsec belts?

If your ship is going down there is a way to save your pod 90% of the time, without exploiting, or logging, it only fails due to excessive lag or bubbles. Simply spam the warp key to an object on your overview when you are in structure and going down and your pod normally warps off very quickly.

Hope you did get revenge mate but Id love to hear how you stopped them warping off with a shield booster (no scrambler) !

lol it was just a friendly fight, i was allowed to kill them but they agreed to only take me down to structure. as i said i was running with 7 pulses (cause i had to rebuy hull due to pirate BS) 1 civ booster and 50mm of armor. they were a punisher and a incursus with 1 hobgoblin, they were outranging me lol. im gona find them again now that i have my proper weapons and 1311 points of armor :D

we stole from each others cans, it was in 0.8 space lol

I see, yeah thats certainly a good way to get fights that wasnt around when I was a beginner in this game, before you were limited to fighting corp mates or heading off to lowsec.

Anyway when your new fitting your ship out is obviously limited by the fitting skills and the basic requirements, but certainly as an amarr you should be trying to focus on armour tanking your ships. You want to be careful about fitting more than one plate though because they all have penalties to mass which means that you can end up flying a brick that can never get into its guns "optimal range"

I suggest fitting or at least carrying multifrequency S and radio S crystals for your lasers so you can either have maximum damage or extended optimal range.

I would recommend using dual light beams first, I found them very useful when I first started as they had a wider spread of range so I could reach my optimal quicker.

For ratting and mission running I would use beams and then have a similar low-slots setup as Moeks, or you could swap the heat sink for an energized basic hardener as it will improve your resists quite well despite being a basic module meaning you can armor tank easier.

A punisher was the best amarr ship for me to first use, it has a bonus to armor resists and turret damage, great for missioning.

Could you explain that in noob terms for me please. :)

When you are dieing, and have no chance of escape. Click on a celestial object, so that it appears in the overview at the top, along with all the relevant options, like warp to, show info etc.
then, keep pressing the warp to command. Your client may lag as your ship explodes, but hopefully the warp to command will activate straight away, and before the debris has finished disintegrating you should find yourself warping to a planet :) etc.

OcUK Corp been having problems with people spamming on there public channel?
The public channel was created at the same time as the corp and the channel admin no longer plays. Channel admin rights have just been switched to the current CEO/Directors and they're sorting it out now (I hope).

Althought there's a few people who spam the channel... you know who you are ;)

Uhm.. Didn't read all 155 pages.

But even so, some of you may have seen my in the Out Of Pod Experience on the offical boards recently. ;)

Will have to find the OcUK public channel sometime, although don't really play much as just started a fresh character and i'm having great fun doing learning skills. :o

So, anyway, hey to all fellow EVE players.

Shionoya Risa btw. :p

When you say that is your industrial/npc character I assume that means you aren't leaving the game and that you have another pvp character you are going to continue playing with ?
