The *Official* Eve Online Thread

why not give the setup a try? I'll happily sit in a Brutix and shoot you with blasters and you can see how you get on.

Can't you fit cap chargers?

I will give it a go when I can get onto sisi it will be worth it, I just don't think there is a counter to the mega for ammar at the moment apart from running away which is a shame.

They really need to re-think what ammar are intended for because at the moment they do nothing better then any other race.

Wizzkidy => When you are under optimal your chance of a hit has nothing to do with falloff. You seem to be a little misguided there.

Muffin=> Nice skills, my gunnery is rather dismal in comparision, i've only just got around to medium II guns! covert/recon/hac/drones are the chunk of my SP.

What do people think of the new leadership skill changes, i'm not sure quite what to make of it, and whether ive got all the facts, however it appears that you are going to need to train some charisma based skill if you want to lead a gang of more than 10? players. If that really is correct I can see it negatively impacting on a lot of co-operative play.

I'm quite interested by "invention" as well, i'm not sure if it would be profitable to make anything t2 given the chance based system and high load of skills you need to sink into it

The gang changes are another "solution" to blobbing. Whilst I like the limited numbers in gangs, I really dislike the cash cow they have put on them.

wonder what the effect of the new leadership skills will have on gangs. do they give nice bonuses?

So falloff has nothing to do with hitting someone below the fall off stat? what does falloff affect then ?

ok say if a weapon has a falloff of 5000 meters, at 5500 meters, your going to have trouble making any damage with it.

Optimal range is when it does the most damage, and then falloff is when it stops doing damage, or am i wrong?

just been playing on the test server
wow
cool AS!
love the new BCs and the new BS look like they have some potential

Answer to number 2 is that the market is seeded with everything at 1 ISK IIRC.

Number 1 requires a seperate install of Eve, patched up with the latest test server patch. Just change the server you connect to on the Eve login screen.

Cool, only problem being that the game doesnt give me the test server patch :(

*sigh* I guess i'll have to go find it *god im lazy mutter mutter*

Can someone give me a half decent explanation of how to set up the test patch thing please? The thing on Eve im not following because im kind of tired after 2 hours of C++ programming.

go to your hard drive then look for program files, open this then look for a folder called CCP open this and theres a folder inside called eve, just copy paste this so you have two folders there and rename one test or something, then open up the test folder and copy the blue eve.exe as a shortcut to your desktop.

when this is done you have to go to the eve site and download the test patches making sure you only instal them onto the test folder not your main one

once you've installed it just connect to SISI rather than TQ as normal, if there is a que then just leave the client running and you'll be able to login.
