The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Any container which has a password rather than your run of the mill bog standard small/medium/large container. According to the market you need Lvl 1 Anchoring to be able to use a Secure Container. I have lvl 1 anchoring and the bit in the market still shows red.

Hmm strange, have you tried relogging, emptying your cache folder (except you settings) or possibly training it to lvl2?

nah no insurance as i had just picked the damn thing up, so really i shouldnt have left the computer, but you know when the phone rings you gotta answer it lol

1) Never fly a ship uninsured that you can't afford to lose.

2) Even if the phone rings it takes less than a couple of seconds to send your guy warping to a planet, and then hit the x to close the game. Your guy will arrive at planet, warp off and disappear from in game unless there is a 30 second counter going. Remember, no rats spawn at planets.

yup Garp i realise that now, but ive learnt from it so its all good...now my original question, does anyone know of a corp that does such a thing?

Very few corps give complete battleships away to members, in part to ensure players aren't wasteful. I doubt many corps would be willing to do what you're asking to be honest, I imagine there would be extreme doubts as to whether you'd pay back all the money. Eve doesn't give you much options for extracting payments either.

Right..got me uber tech I blaster setup for my incursus now :p, shame its a while off being able to use the tech II guns i want

Actually quite a few do...

Not all corps run the same way ours does.

Corp Insurance for one makes this concept perfectly viable.

Hi

We (D-F-C) operate a scheme where we provide all items for corp members, the only things that are excluded are clones and implants. We provide all ships, modules, skills and advice pretty much completely free, all we ask is that your active, and make regular donations to the corp, which are exchanged for shares in the corp to allow you to have a say in the way it is run. If you would like to add me to msn danielpluck999 at hotmail dot com or join our public channel we could possibly help out, although you may have to wait a week or two as we were recently a victim of corp theft, so we have had to change the rule slightly, well unfortunately.

ack... that sucks dude, I feel your pain :(

Why can't everyone just be nice to each other?

yeah tell me about it mate, it was a danish member by the name of Thaad Grorthag, the git stole a raven, and emptied our advanced hanger of all the large, battleship class mods :(. We war decced him, so we have had some fun killing his harpy, crow, badger Mk2, raven and pod, so its not a complete loss. The worst bit of all was having to change our policy on inductions and free modules, instead of getting them straight away, now we have certain criteria that people must meet, nothing too tragic, but jsut peace of mind for us.

Sounds like the same kind of thing we had to implement.

Still, it meant I got round to utilising titles properly, and the hangers got a good cleanup :)

The big problem is, that whilst it isn't an exploit (in CCP's eyes) then there is very little you can do about it once it has happened. The offending member just goes and sits in an NPC corp for the rest of their career and you can't touch them (unless they foolishly wander into low sec space and you happen to be there to see it)...

Well your right it isnt very preventable. What we ask now is that new recruits have a 2 week induction period where they only have access to basic and standard mods, we also require a screenshot of the login screen with the drop down login box exposed. Thats pretty much all we can do.

It shows all the accounts which are used on that client.

Not a bad idea, however not all account names tally with the character names...

True, but it will show if people have multiple accounts and therefore maybe a hidden agenda.
