Well, i've just installed the copy I bought a long time ago.
Need a good game seeing as Oblivion wont be here for some time
It's patching just now but i'm looking forward to giving it a bash
(looks like there is quite a bit to dl too)

If you have the CD, that means youve got a free month, the best advice anyone can give you, is give it a few weeks minimum, if not the entire month before you judge whether you wanna keep playing or not. This game is so huge it takes that long just to get a general feel for it. People who quit after a day or two dont even see 1% of the game (literally). The more time you put in, the better youll become, the more fun youll have.
Patience is everything right at the start.
I'm only a day in, Can someone explain a few things about this game to me?

I mean, you rent a factory - for production. This requires a blueprint of the item you want to produce. And also requires the minerals and items used to create the larger items...right? Am I missing something else?
: Drones.
You can use these to fight by your side or to mine for you, right?
Well can I have a drone mining on its own while I do other things, getting it to store mined goods in a specific station?
:R&D.
Used to copy blueprints? I don't think thats all but could someone give me more info?
:How do I set up my own Corp?
:Are there any good all round ships to get for before I decide which pah to go down?
Good cargo hold size, and enough slots? I'm thinking about a Tristan ATM.
I doubt will be JUST a miner, or JUST a Trader, or hunter. But I cant get multiple ships for different purposes yet and need an all rounder...
:Cloning....how does it work and how do I do it?
:After the tutorial is over and I'm doing the missions for the lady who is making a clone agent, does anyone know where to go next in the storyline missions? I forgot what she said and I'm a few jumps away now...
:How long does learning the way that optimizes other skill learning (The Instant recall, analytical mind, learning cycle) take to get to level 4-5, the point a which I start memory and will training...?
Also, how long does this learning process take all in all - getting all the key learning skills up to level 4-5...?

You need minerals to produce everything, so items such as Tech2 modules needs extremly rare minerals such as Morphite or R.A.M's or other materials to make. You can also get skills (Industry) which reduce the time to manufacture the item in the factory. And skills (Production Efficency) which can be trained to reduce the mineral cost.
You also get BP's with ME:# (Mineral efficency) which reduces the mineral need on that BP, also runs is show, thats how many times you can use that BP before it runs out. BPO's last for forever.

I mean Gallante, so thier are differnt frigates for different roles, the Triastan is a sturdy ship for combat but its two turrent points make it hard for mining, I *think* the logistics ship for Gallante is the Imicus (Gillette bottle) but I'm not sure, you appear to have an Interon Mk V so if you sell that and maybe get a Interon Mk 1 or Mk 2 for market trading and the a logistics ship for a mine and a Combat for ratting your getting a good start in EvE.

You need to keep the clone above the ammount of skills you have or if it gets out dated it will removed about %20 of your skill points, which is pretty nasty, so always keep your clone up to date.
With moving clones, as I understand it you have to have items at that location or had items there in the past two weeks, but don't quote me on that.

There are agents for where you stated, your school, so if you look at your starting NPC corp info and agents, there are many Lvl 1 Advisory agents availble, they are good to use because they give skills which are useful early on so you dont have to buy them, they are mostly running an item from here to there, pretty boring but you can grind them, the best if you like PvE (Player vs Entitey) is for your races Navy, as they will be nothing but PvE.
