Dan should definatly take it to Bones for early 2012.... agreed hes not getting younger and fights better at 205.

I think sometimes dana is just making up stuff as he goes along, course Hendo vs Shogun would have been the perfect fight for Fox, sure its gore and blood spills but it defines ufc, jds vs cain could have been a bloodfest and fans proberly would have either hated it or just wanted even more.

Going with fox and trying to be more mainstream is perhaps UFCs biggest trial todate, wouldnt be shocked if shogun gets his rematch cos he feels it was a 10-8 last round and a draw, after producing the biggest and best fight of 2012 they would deserve a rematch, something tells me though Dan henderson will have one last chance of UFC gold... or a retirement rematch with shogun with "silly" money involved and it will be on fox lol

I thought it would have been an incredible fight for Fox but after reading comments other day that prior to the Cain vs JDS fight they had guys out painting the octagon to cover up bloody stains maybe not :o

According to Dana that was because Fox didn't want it to look like the octagon had been used before, as people tuning in on Fox were only getting to see the main event. I don't believe what Dana was saying about being glad Shogun vs Hendo wasn't on Fox, sure MMA is more bloody and brutal than boxing, but plenty of people tune into boxing even though it's a tough sport. I don't think the Shogun vs Hendo fight would have put people off, and if it did then they shouldn't really be watching the UFC anyway.

You can tell he's still annoyed about the Cain vs JDS fight because he keeps on bringing it up and keeps on giving naff answers to questions regarding it.

Can imagine quite a few people who would not let their teenage kids watch that but would send them upstairs to go and shoot people in the heads on their PS3. Which would be shame as that is the most Pride fight I think I have seen out of Pride.

Just watched UFC 139, thought it was amazing, I was mad that the cung lee fight got stopped because I agreed with joe rogan about it being a bad stoppage, really wanted that fight to go the distance, there was only 10 seconds left in the round and I think cung lee could have held on to his leg for 10 more seconds and rode out the rest of the round.

And I also felt that cung lee was winning the first two rounds also so all he had to do was survive the 3rd round and he would have won, so was really mad about the ref stopping it.

But then when the shogun vs henderson fight came on, by time it got to the end of the first round I'd already forgot about the cung lee fight and was like omg, this is amazing, proper loved all 5 rounds. Was an epic fight, I kinda thought that henderson had won the first three rounds but was hoping they'd call it a draw because it was like an epic battle where they were both in the ring fighting a war, blooded up like a rocky movie haha...I wanted it to be a draw because they both deserved to win and both showed a lot of heart and then have a rematch but oh well, still a great fight and great card. :D

We've defo had a great year for MMA, I love this sport so much, I just really hope it gets bigger and bigger and the whole world falls in love with the sport, I really think boxing sucks these days by comparison, I try watching a boxing match and I'm usually bored.

Just a question, you know they were having that tournament in strikeforce, did that get cancelled when UFC took over because I was watching first few fights and havent seen anything of it since?

Cung Le was done man. He won the first round, no doubt about it, but he slowed down noticably towards the end of the 2nd. He got clipped, dropped, and brutalized - there is no way on this earth you could give the second to Cung Le. Unless stopping knees with your face is a judging criteria that I do not know about.

Was it a bad stoppage? Looking at what is left of Cung Le's nose it probably wasnt, but even if the fight continues you have a battered, winded Cung Le against Wanderlei Silva. There was no way Cung was going to survive that 3rd round.

They have already had the semis, I wont spoil the results for you incase you want to find the fights to watch online or something, but the final is already booked... and I can only see it going one way.

Oh I must have missed it somehow, I'll try see if I can get a hold of a copy.

As for what I said before about cung le, I thought he was winning second round too, up until the point where silva got the better of him which was right at the end of the 2nd round.

You've seen loads of fights before where the ref lets it go on, there was one with brock lesnar that I remember when he had the fight against shane carwin, and then also with this fight card, dan henerson vs shogun, the ref let it go on when he could have stopped it when henderson almost knocked shogun out.

So just a shame we didnt have a ref like that for previous fight with cung le, thats all I'm saying, would have loved to have seen it continue. They said he won via knockout but he wasnt knocked out.

It was vintage Wandy, and the longer it went on the fresher he remained and the more bashed up Le would have been.
I think the remaining 10 secs would have just hurt Le tonnes and he'd have been totally gassed by the final round.

No way Cung Le could have come out for the third with his nose in that shape. I agree it was a bad stoppage only because the ref couldn't see his face but I think his corner would have thrown in the towel if the round ended.

Problem with Cung Lee is all he has are his flashy kicks and unorthodox elbows. If anyone gets with in range of him, he's in trouble (as we saw when Silva got in close). Still fun to watch though. :)

LOL. Anyone watch Pudzianowski vs James Thompson tonight?

Now I was routing for Pudz obviously but the decision was ridiculous.

Fair play to JT for coming out and speaking the truth at the end there.

Only just realised this thread existed xD
but im a big mma fan been watching the UFC since 08 and other promotions over the last 2 years.

So Michael Bisping vs. Jason "Mayhem" Miller under a week away

I had a bad feeling about this one if it went to the judges, even left a comment on Thompson's facebook on friday saying "don't let it go to the judges!".

Sad to see James getting robbed again, this one is even worse than Dream 16

Hmm didn't know this thread existed either, been watching mma since pride 2004 total elimination, never missed a pride or ufc since. Are there any boozers around (central london or surrey) that show events?? I normally watch them with some cans in the house :/

shame the ref's fat head was in the way, and how badly did I want that third standing backflip to knock the other guy out again just for lulz

a bit late form me but yes, shoudl have been a draw.

how the 5th wasnt given a 10-8 was riddiculous! shogun took near no offense for that round, but realistically i could have gone either a draw or hendo, so its fine.

amazing fight though, one of the best i have EVER seen in the UFC.
