Does anybody here train in any martial arts? Im keen to get into it as injury will hold back my weight training in terms of going heavy and bulking up. Been out of training a while due to a chest injury and surgery.

I think im more keen on a striking art rather than something like BJJ. Any recommendations?

I assume the best thing is just to go down unfit and solo and just see how it goes? The feeling of being a tard will go away? lol

This is excellent news. Fedor was never allowed to fight UFC as his management company knew his brand was far more lucrative "unbeaten" and wouldnt let him fight the nutters in UFC like Lesnar and co. Now he is beaten and the hype is waning, he will want to prove himself and as such the chances of him in the UFC are getting better and better :) Good news for fight fans.

It's only good news if he goes to the UFC.

Pretty sure he will get the rematch with Werdum next even though I hope Werdum has to fight Overeem instead. Poor Overeem can't get a fight in Strikeforce, he should walk away from the organisation if Werdum doesn't fight him next.

Overeem is a beast at the moment, but it doesnt mean Werdum wont do exactly the same as he did to Fedor.

If Overeem has even the slightest game plan it would include not going to the ground at any cost so there would be no chance of getting caught.

Yep, I fully agree. Rush of blood to the head can put test to any game plan however :) Overeem would probably KO him if he got chance to put hands on him anyway.

Overeem isn't that good, he has no chin for a start and his ground game is nothing special. He's kind of one dimensional, of course could KO pretty much anyone on the feet, but stands a good chance of getting Ko'd himself. But then Bork is kind of one dimensional too and he's made it to champ.

Werdum is an excellent fighter, ever since he fought Nog to what seemed like a draw in his early days it was obvious he was really gifted. IIRC he was a bit of a BJJ prodigy which he only took up as he got beaten up in front of his girlfriend in Brazil. He has beaten Overeem, Gonzaga, Vera, Antonio Silva and Aleks Emelianenko, thats as good as just about anyone. Certainly a lot better than almost anyone I can think of right now, although I must admit he did look out of shape in the UFC.

Werdum took a few people to lightly, and overlooked JDS in UFC, and everybody knows he is the real deal.

Overeems striking will be on a completely different level to Werdums, and yes Werdum has beaten Overeem before, but that was when he had the gas tank of a fat 40 year old woman.

Since hulking up and becoming Ubereem i don't see him having a problem dispatching Werdum. He saw what happened to Fedor and won't be making the same mistake.

Edit: Overeem's next fight will be against on the 10th of July http://mmajunkie.com/news/19744/ali...-rodriguez-on-tap-for-dream-15-on-july-10.mma

I'm not honestly sure his cardio is any better now, it's just he has the power to dispatch people very quickly and never let it get to that. Overeem vs Werdum is very much the striker vs grappler matchup. If Ubereem can't put him away I think he'll be in trouble later on.

he did not look best pleased when werdum said he would rather rematch fedor..

I wouldn't be pleased either, what does that guy have to do in order to get a decent fight in Strikeforce? He's already going back and forth to Japan to get some fights in.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up walking away from Strikeforce as soon as he can (not sure what his contractual situation is like)

So, rumours are, Bader Vs. Lil Nog and Mir Vs Big Nog II at UFC 119.

Not gonna comment on the first since ive still yet to see Bader fight, But I think Mir may end up knocking Big Nog out once more.

I've heard lots of rumors that its going to be CroCop vs Nog II. Be gutted if it is Mir, what an epic rematch CroCop would be!

Edit: Yep Dana's confirmed it, bummer :(

Anyone think Chael Sonnen will put up a good fight against Anderson Silva? I'm really looking forward to Roy 'Big Country' Nelson vs Junior Dos Santos.

Maybe this explains why Kyacey Uscola didn't make an appearance at the Ultimate Fighter finale last month:

After filming Season 11 of The Ultimate Fighter, Uscola was attacked by two American pit-bulls, after a brief confrontation, the dogs injured his shoulder, hand, and penis. Uscola was able to start training again after ten days of rehabilitation.

Ouch. :p

That fight is going to suck I'm afraid if Mir is continuing his slide and Nogs chin continues to wain. Heres hoping they take it to the ground so we can see some high level Ju Jitsu at least...

Oh, and i think Sonnen is going to smashed by Silva (for who asked it). Provoking Silva is the worst thing Sonnen can do I feel - Silva had something to prove already with Dana saying he disrespected everyone etc and now Sonnen is baiting him he is going to get seriously punished.

Personally, if Silva pulls another Maia fight and dances around etc he should be cut in my opinion. He's been the daddy of Middleweight since UFC 64 (i think) and its about time he let some of the other guys have a run now. I'd like to see him step up to light heavy.
