yup everyones saying same thing if brocks gets the take down the nights his... if not overeems on the standup.

I think were gonna see a different brock this time round....

Such a close fight again which makes it interesting as always

I know 'Reem hasn't faced a Brock type wrestler before but his tkd isn't bad, and no matter what it starts standing, and Brock doesn't look if he "likes" and feels at home standing.

Which is why he will no doubt go for the take down... allot are wondering if that's possible and if overeem can jump right back up, we know brocks taken down Mir and out wrestled him and taken him down and many others even in clinches or against the fence, sadly overeems not faced or avoided big wrestlers with big ground and pound so we have never seen it before.

Still its a close fight, no doubt overeems the firm favorite so will see closer to fight night such a shame its 2 weeks away :(

I'm not really sold on Brock's amazing wrestling personally, he out wrestled Mir, but Mir has never shown any hint of any wrestling.

Struggled taking down a tiny (in comparison) Couture, who at one point even took him down.

Cain was taken down, but got straight up again.

I'm sure Overeem is working hard on his wrestling for this fight.

I actually think Brock might KO him on the feet, he has big power and Reem hasn't the best chin in the world, and if you watch his fights does get hit often too.

That being said, I'll still take Reem by TKO.

To much K1 has been an issue for Reem he tries to walk through punches in order to land his haha against Wedrum he didn't seem to bother with any proper defense and just tried to plough through it!

Hasn't Overeem actually got a decet submission record as well? Just don't see to much of it now as he tends to fight a lot more K1 then MMA and tries to keep fights standing.
Again Werdum constantly tried to get him down or play possum and Reem stepped out of them easily, then again Brock is probably 50lbs heavier and a lot stronger and faster.

Cant forget there was a major difference between light overeem who was getting knocked out and beaten by top guys like chuck liddel/shogun rua 2x/big nog etc and the very recent ubereem heavyweight overeem.

Guy had slurred and slow speech after winning the werdum fight.....

Even more worrying is his mums very ill that can play on his mind and worst of all he was getting outstruct by strikes from werdum in there last fight, I feel ubereem paced himself just so he could land the power strikes and stuff take downs and muscle his way in the fight.

Just dont see that happening with brock

He didn't get oustruck by Werdum, if he had he would have lost the decision as the only engagement was on the feet.

Werdum would flop to the floor anytime Overeem started striking with him.

Cant wait for this fight, under 2 weeks now! It's going to be like an old school UFC fight almost, where the two fighters each excel in one specific area - in the old days it was generally speaking the wrestlers who came out on top.

I personally think Brock will win, but it all depends how he copes with the ring rust and whether or not he can get the fight to the ground early.

Yeah meant he threw more attempted strikes, overeem landed more so got the better of him.

Still ive watched that fight many times generally I feel werdums standup was pretty good, should be interesting to see him against roy nelson early next year.

Yup this fight is a coin toss but nearly everyone ive seen on sherdog forums have said if it goes to the ground its lesnars win, standing its overeems. Question is no ones seen anything like this before, 2 giant heavyweights with different skill sets going at it.

I feel like brock hinted if he had to fight cain again he would not rush in... and his training with pat barry/other k1 top strikers may pay off. Doesnt help that overeem changed his mind when he said he will send brock back to wwe within round 1, now its 'within' 2 rounds.

I still feel brocks recovery and cardio will prevail, just hope he doesnt bull rush and blow his load 1st minute or 2.... I feel overeem is going to be doing similar so makes an even longer fight, hopefully not a boring one!

Good to see GSP's surgery was a success http://mmaweekly.com/georges-st-pierre-knee-surgery-a-success, shame the diaz fight wont be for atleast 12 months

also just found this with a few good stats on it

good to see the spider on top... u know even if that guy lost 1 or 2 hes still gotta be no1 surely :)

nate diaz is gonna be in for a tuff night but so is cerrone, still see donald getting the W anyhow should be interesting how he ends if though, I think he and ben hendo entered the ufc on a total tear to get to no1 while in the ufc.... would be awesome to see them in the ufc now there 2.0 versions of there former WEC selves :)

Some Chael Sonnen news/interview :D

"I'm done with the guy. He and I have no business. He's cold product. He's like jheri curls and Pepsi Clear. He's yesterday's news. I destroyed this guy back when he was tough. That was years ago. He's so far over the hill and so far past his prime that it's not worth talking about.

I'm going to become the No. 1 contender on January 28th and despite what you may think, I'm not going to use that voucher to fight Anderson Silva. I'll be looking at (Jon) Jones, (Junior) dos Santos and possibly (Georges) St. Pierre. I will take that voucher to Dana White and pick one of those three guys. My time with Anderson is done."

Interview will be up on TSN soon, not working atm.

Chael Sonnen gave Anderson Silva his best and still couldn't beat him, the truth hurts some times this is his way of dealing with it like a baby.
