coming soon

You and me both.

So, tonights event isn't on TV for UK then?

Anyone been following the build-up for Tate-Rousey next month? I'm not usually a fan of women's MMA but I must admit I'm looking forward to this one.

I'm looking for to it. How many women main events have there been? I can only think of Carano v Cyborg.

Last night's event was really decent, better than some of the recent PPVs and definitely better than any of the UFCs on Fox that they've had so far.

Oh and Rousey by armbar in the 1st ;)

Great night of fights. Don't understand why it wasn't a 5 round fight though. It seems like the UFC just pick and choose when they want a 3 or 5 round fight. Thought it was a permanant thing that all mains were 5 rounds.

All main events will be 5 rounds from now.

This fight should have been 5 rounds :(

Diego was staging a decent comeback and his conditioning would have got the better of Jake in the 4th and 5th I reckon.

Diego still didn't look as cut as he used to be, he seemed a bit soft.

hmm Will ESPN Uk have much UFC left to show?

Getting a bit peaved off with it being every where atm

EDIT just googled it and got this

February 17th 2012
It recent weeks it was widely believed that ESPN UK and the UFC would be going their separate ways when their current deal expires in August.

Behind-the-scenes sources on both sides were saying the same thing and so speculation naturally began to fall on which channel would be the next television home of the UFC in Britain.

But it seems the rumour-mill operatives were too hasty, as multiple sources have now indicated to Fighters Only that in fact the relationship between the two parties may be renewed and extended.

ESPN UK certainly hasn’t given up on the UFC. A spokesman for the broadcaster told us earlier:

“ESPN continues to be a strong TV partner to UFC, and our channel in the UK continues to grow in reach and ratings. We are reaching millions of UK fans every month, with 10 consecutive months of overall ratings growth, and consistent growth in subscribers.

“We have spent significant resources in marketing and promotion of the UFC as a part of our range of top-quality sport, and hope to continue to do so beyond the current contract if a deal can be reached that makes sense for both sides.”

UK fans will remember that last year, ESPN UK stopped showing preliminary card fights and other ‘one off’ events such as UFC on Versus.

This is because the contract with the UFC was strictly for main card broadcasts and ‘Fight Night’ events. The UFC used to allow ESPN UK to air undercards and sundry events for free, but changed that policy in mid-2011.

ESPN UK did not want to pay anything extra for the non-contracted content and so the UFC broadcast it to UK fans via its Facebook page and/or the UFC.tv site. But if a new deal is struck, the contract will almost certainly take account of undercards, unique events and other items which slipped through the cracks of the previous deal.

That would expand ESPN UK’s offerings to UFC fans and solidify the channel as the home of the UFC in the UK - but will only happen if both sides are agreed on numbers. If no resolution can be reached there are several other channels in the running, with Sky, FX and a Channel 5 off-shoot among them.

it needs to stay off skysports and stay on a reasonably accessible channel if the sport is to grow in this country. espn is free with a lot of VM tv packages and is cheap to buy as a channel on its own.

got that feeling skysports ppv takes it...

thing is its not going to work since no ones gonna spend X amount on a PPV that starts @ 3am.

It needs to remain just watchable thru a single subscription....

but time will only tell !

Doesnt the company that owns Fox in the US also own sky here ?

also doesnt sky sports have quite a lot more subscribers compared to espn ? not sure on the numbers for that one doh.

personally id be quite happy for it to be moved onto sky sports for the main shows, and FX for the prelims/"fight night" cards.

but at the same time sky is busy pushing F1 right now.

in the end doh when the UFC does get bigger here, it will be on PPV.

not that i watch WWE anymore but i used to when i was younger and that was almost all on Sky sports except for some of the major events, wrestlemania for example, these days most of there monthly PPVS are on PPV here ?

Would be great if Fx got to show the whole lot. could get ride of my espn then.

If it was just boxoffice I would just downloaded. Fight unpredictable to be paying cash for them each time.
