Condit won the Diaz fight in my eyes but it could have been a toss up at times. I think it will be a good fight this weekend but I can see GSP probably winning with his wrestling and I think GSP would beat Diaz soundly.

at the time i went for diaz due to winning rounds 1,2 and 5 but i suppose it depends on the understanding of octagon control

I agree that octagon control is important, if he was driving forward and Condit was doing nothing then I'd have given him the win but Condit was avoiding and countering. You still have to hit your opponent (or you opponent has to do absolutely nothing) for octagon control to come into it.

TBH, if Diaz got the win I wouldn't have protested. It was very close.

I gave the fight to Condit but it wasn't a good fight at all...

I think I'm the only guy in the world that doesn't want to see GSP vs Anderson. IMO Anderson is far too big for GSP with too big a reach, he's quite capable of making short work of most of the current LHW division too!
To put this into perspective GSP is 5'10" tall and has to weigh in at 12st for his fights, Anderson is capable of manhandling guys 6'+ that weigh around 15 stone on fight night.

I'd much rather see Anderson vs Jones tbh.

I'd much rather see Anderson vs Jones tbh.

As would we all, but that's never going to happen because as soon as Silva realised that Jones was a potential threat he made sure they became Super Secret Pony Princess Unicorn Best Friends Forever (either that or lovers).

although Condits got the highest stoppage % in the UFC i think it'l go the distance with GSP taking it on points, then people whining that Condit should have won it :p

In regard to Joe's comments about the Condit/Diaz fight in all sports hindsight is a wonderful thing, many sporting events have been turned by perception. If as Joe says he saw it live and saw it as a win for Condit then it's hardly surprising that the judges who saw it from the same perspective at the same time found also gave the win to Condit.

I would like tonight to be a real event, I would love the fight to have real depth and impact but I feel that GSP will try standup for the first round maybe two then he'll revert to wrestling Condit to the ground for a LnP win.

I have a great deal of respect for both fighters not only are they tremendous sportsmen and athletes but positive role models for up and coming fighters.

Ah yeah, the fight that BJ said GSP was soft because he tapped to strikes and that BJ was ready to die in the ring... bet he felt stupid the day after that one! :)
