I really don't want a GSP/Silva fight. Tonight showed that GSP is a superb wrestler but offers little in stand up. Chael is just as good a wrestler, if somewhat better perhaps, but is a good 20lbs heavier minimum at fight time. It just wouldn't be fair.

They need another two or three rounds in that fight. Neither was giving up.

Agreed on all counts.

GSP>AS>JJ - All separated by size only imo.

Yeah pretty much. My dream fight would be for Big Country to drop to LHW and take on JBJ. :p

Damian Maia would be interesting against GSP because he is quite simply deadly off his back. Might have a bit of a weak chin though. Condit vs the winner of Fitch Maia maybe. Nate Marquardt vs Diaz in April time maybe.

A Maia fight would be awesome but I don't know if he can make it through the pack of hungry WWs in the way. Time will tell.

Hendricks is a serious threat to anyone right now. That much power....

The way I see it at the moment is Hendricks has the first shot. Then we have Fitch vs Maia, Ellenberger, Marquart (when SF dissolves), Diaz and Rory McDonald. I think McD is still three fights off a title shot considering he being fed BJ Penn next month. Marquardt is top dog in a small pond but at welterweight is huge. Ellenberger controlled if somewhat boring against Heiron. Diaz would just jab, bit of a rabid dog.

I think Maia vs Fitch will be a good barometer as to whether he could cope against GSP considering the wrestling skills Fitch has.

GSP is now stuck between a rock and a hard place :)

Hendricks has a chance with his power but I think GSP can outwrestle him if he needs to and has great defensive striking. GSP 50-45

Silva can take GSP apart on his feet. GSP will school Silva on the ground Sonnen style but with BJJ.... This is won and lost in the transitions and from what I saw toninght it'd be Silva finding the openings that condit couldn't. One glaring example was a failed gsp takedown where condit side kicked him away, I think GSPs hands were low and all I could think was Silva would plant that kick on GSPs face. Silva TKO Round 2.

Awesome fight, best one in ages!!!

Mad props to GSP, one has to take the performance in context as well. Coming of a very serious ACL injury, 18 months out of the game and straight into a title fight with a beast of a man, called Carlos.

That was the old GSP today, aggressive and exciting. Will only get better after shaking off any ring rust.

As above, i have no interest in seeing GSP get beat up and knocked out by Silva, i would much prefer to see Jones vs Silva.

Give him Diaz next, there was a lot of buzz surrounding the fight before he got injured, and after that if he wants Silva, then fair do. But if Silva fights and beats GSP he MUST then fight Jones, which is only fair.

Silva won't step up to fight Jones, it's one thing stepping up to fight cans like James Irvin, it's another thing completely to fight the champ.

GSP shouldn't step up, there are interesting fights in Diaz and Hendricks before any move IMO. If there was no one else then fair dos, but there is. Likewise for Silva and Weidman.

I really hope GSP and Silva doesnt happen - would rather see Bones and Silva.

Hendricks deserves the next shot after his recent performances too, that left of his on MK had bad intentions written all over it.

Will be interesting what they decide to do with Diaz when he comes back - I know GSP wanted him bad some time back and Diaz started the mind games again after GSPs fight with a twitter comment.

It's a no-brainer as far as Diaz is concerned - he needs Dana to recognise the $$$ in a GSP vs. Diaz fight by taunting GSP and basically being his usual ****-head self - otherwise he knows he would probably have to take a fight before walking straight into a title fight! Especially after throwing his toys out of his pram and failing a drug test after the Condit fight!

Weidman out of 155 with shoulder injury.

Dana just tweeted this 48 seconds ago:

Lavar Johnson is out of the FOX prelims with a pulled groin. He was fighting Brendan Shcaub.

Feels bad man, was looking forward to this one too.
