I see Tito is up to his usual douchebag antics, flipping Bonnar off and 'gravedigging' ... I mean, he won a split decision against a guy who hasn't fought in two years and he acts like he's knocked out the champion.

In Tito's defence, he's got to do it against someone like Bonnar because if he fights anyone any better, he ain't gonna win! :p

Both the Diaz brothers have always spoken like that. Check out Nate Diaz's interview on The MMA Hour recently, it was painful.

It's as if they're constantly high as a kite. They're lucky that they put on, on the whole, entertaining fights. With all the no-shows, slur and general foolishness many lesser fighters would have been discarded long ago.

UFC 183 will be superb imho, my (pretend) money is on Silva though. Assuming his recovery is truly complete, I think he's got the tools to not only win, but actually tuck Nick Diaz in for the night with a glass of milk and savoury snack.

Yet another fight night on tonight/tomorrow morning.

UFC Fight night 57. Live Sunday 3am BT Sport.

Frankie Edgar vs. Cub Swanson
Bobby Green vs. Edson Barboza
Brad Pickett vs. Chico Camus
Heavyweight Jared Rosholt vs. Oleksiy Oliynyk
Joseph Benavidez vs. Dustin Ortiz
Matt Wiman vs. Isaac Vallie-Flagg

Quite enjoyed the Fight Night card...

Despite the lack of finishes (and I'm putting Edgar's win in there too as it was a late one! :p) I thought it had some very entertaining fights!

Edgar looked fantastic - to fight at that pace for 5 full rounds and then get the submission was great! Love to see him get another crack at Aldo!

Another cracker was the Barboza vs Green fight - fully expected Green to explode at some point but Barboza did a fantastic job of moving in, doing damage and moving out again!

The judge who had Pickett taking all 3 rounds against Camus wants investigating immediately - these judges really should have to explain how they have arrived at their scoring!!!

Maybe Edgar will get McGregor before another title shot - I like McGregor but I don't think he's in the same boat as Edgar & Aldo yet.

UFC 181 this weekend - should be a cracking night of fights!!!!

Main card:

Johny Hendricks (c) vs. Robbie Lawler
Anthony Pettis (c) vs. Gilbert Melendez
Travis Browne vs. Brendan Schaub
Todd Duffee vs. Anthony Hamilton
Tony Ferguson vs. Abel Trujillo

My (virtual) money is on two new champs being crowned this weekend - both Hendricks and Pettis being out of action for as long as they have been has to be a disadvantage compared to their respective opponents!!

Awesome card tonight!! Anytime you have the likes of Faber on the undercard and you know it's stacked.

Really hoping for a Lawler win in the main event, Pettis Vs Melendez should be a war.

Surprised this isn't the end of year card, that's normally the one with 2 championship bouts etc, DC Vs Jones will have to make do

Great night of fights, some awesome finishes.

Ferguson looked good, despite being in trouble early. Doesn't seem to be the same angry asshat he was on TUF, but still can't find it in me to like the guy.

Todd Duffee - can only hope that he stays healthy, guy can seriously bang.

Travis Browne - I'm only amazed that it didnt end sooner and more violently.

Showtime - first man to stop Gil, looks like a freight train at 155 at the moment.

Lawler v Hendricks - I'll be honest, I thought that fight went to Hendricks, don't know how anybody can call it 49-46 to Lawler but I'm actually glad Lawler won.

Edit: And call me a teenage girl for saying this, but I'm so hyped up to see if CM Punk can compete in the UFC.

Good event last night

The Travis Browne result was the least surprising one of the night, everyone was calling the Browne win beforehand.

Duffee - hard to tell whether Duffee was good or he was just fighting someone quite average, probably a bit of both.

Pettis - he's an absolute beast. Melendez did well putting some pressure on but Pettis didn't really look worried at any stage, hit him with a lovely front kick and really picked his shots well.

Lawler - bit of a controversial result, but not as dodgy as the Hendricks vs GSP result. I think you could legitimately give Lawler the first and last rounds, and Rogan seemed to think that the fourth was a close one too, so I can maybe see why he won. I'm actually glad he did, like he said in the post match interview he was the one who really wanted to fight. I thought Hendricks was a bit boring, he seemed content to press Lawler against the cage and lie on him on the ground to try to grind it out.

I'm glad Lawler won, but in my eyes no way did he win that fight. You could argue he won the first, but other than that the only clear round for him was the 5th. When they read out 49-46 I said out loud, must be Hendricks then.

Not the biggest shaft i've ever seen, but i'm struggling to see how the judges can give that 49-46 to Lawler. Hendricks needs to sort his cardio out, ballooning up to 220 pounds in between fights can't be doing him any good, he always looks totally washed out at the weight ins (more so than most fighters).

Also, CM Punk in the UFC? LOL.

Yeah I did think hendricks looked a little pale at the weigh-in. CM punk will be terrible in the UFC, he's 36 so too old and I doubt he'll survive in the standup.

edit: having seen the Hendricks vs Lawler card, I can't believe the judge who scored it 49-46 gave the 2nd round to Lawler, there was no way he won that round. I think you can personally make the argument for the first and fourth rounds as well as the fifth. I see it scored like the middle judge who gave him rounds 1,4, and 5.

Dunno about the 49-46 but I gave it to Robbie by a hair, 1,4,5. 48-47

Great night of fights and that 5th round surge by Robbie  I was yelling at my TV :D

I'd agree with this - Hendricks controlled the action in the 2nd & 3rd but really trailed off in the latter rounds, essentially just holding Lawler against the cage causing the booing which I'm sure didn't help his cause with the judges!

The stalling was really infuriating, especially as Herb Dean was just stood there 'Work, work, work, work" 2 minutes later separates them. Dean should've been separating them much earlier for me, i'm not surprised the crowd were getting vocal.

Decent night of fights. I don't think Hendricks Vs Lawler was a robbery. I can easily see how Lawler could have been given rounds 1,4 and 5. I'm a little baffled as to how judge 3 scored round 2 for Lawler though.

When I heard 49-46 I thought Hendricks had it for sure. That was the most surprising thing. Even Herb Dean raised Hendricks' arm when he heard it. If the final score was 48-47 for Lawler it wouldn't have been as surprising or controversial.

That Lawler beast mode at the end of round 5 tho. Awesome :D

Another decent card this Saturday:

Junior dos Santos vs. Stipe Miocic
Rafael dos Anjos vs. Nate Diaz
Alistair Overeem vs. Stefan Struve
Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Matt Mitrione

God damn it Overeem please don't get knocked out again.

Think i'm going to rewatch the fight without commentary, I was sure as hell Hendricks was 4 up going into the 5th with lawler winning 5th with flurry in last 60 seconds.

Perhaps Joe Rogan struck again, as quite a few people thought it was close. Although i'm pretty certain Hendricks dominated the stand up, lawler looked frustrated and barely landed a punch until Hendricks decided to hump his leg.

Rewatched it again, 1 was Lawler, 2-3 clear hendricks, 4 was going to be hendricks but he took a bit of a hammering in that last minute when he was holding onto lawlers legs and that swung me (I'd also given the most significant strike to lawler prior to that as well) so round 4 to lawler and that round 5 rage was just awesome :D round 5 lawler.

48-47

UFC on Fox 13 I've got:
Dos Santos (though Stipe is dangerous!)
Dos Anjos
Struve (Natty reem has thus far been very poor)
