Think i'm going to rewatch the fight without commentary, I was sure as hell Hendricks was 4 up going into the 5th with lawler winning 5th with flurry in last 60 seconds.

Perhaps Joe Rogan struck again, as quite a few people thought it was close. Although i'm pretty certain Hendricks dominated the stand up, lawler looked frustrated and barely landed a punch until Hendricks decided to hump his leg.

I think my issue with Hendricks is that he just looked pretty boring. Pinning someone against the side of the cage without really doing much doesn't/shouldn't get points from the judges. Apparently he had a really bad weight cut this time, he put on too much weight while recovering from bicep surgery and then struggled to get rid of it leading up to this fight.

In my opinion that really showed in the last few rounds, Hendricks looked tired and seemed content to try to pin Lawler against the cage and lie on him on the floor to try to grind out the win. Also I think Lawler looked the more likely to end the fight. Hendricks landed lots of good leg kicks and some decent knees, and he had a few takedowns too (which he didn't do anything with) but he never really wobbled Lawler. Hendricks was clearly a bit wobbly after Lawler's onslaught in round one and was very close to being knocked out in the fifth round.

I see Rogan basically told Schaub on his podcast last night that he needs to retire and he'll never be an elite level fighter. I think he's doing the right thing being honest with his friend, he can't keep taking blows to the head like that.

What tickled me was Joe Rogan saying at the end of the 3rd that Lawler needed the KO to win (or some 10-8 or 10-7 rounds)

Like most have said, some of the rounds were very close and could have gone either way - this is why I'd like to see rounds scored as a draw unless one person was clearly better!

It would also be interesting if they presented the scores at the end of each round so each fighter knew what the position was! Would make for some very interesting final rounds!!! :D

Yeah, no need for the booing at all.

Extremely close fight. Could have gone either away but I had JDS too. Stipe proved himself and took it to him but man Junior sure is getting hit a lot.

Jesus, that was a war.

JDS can't keep having bouts like that, I worry about his long term health. The two Cain beatings were awful to watch, that was almost as bad.

I knew this was on, but not too fussed about the card.

Probably partly because I do not think I have seen CB Dolloway fight, which is odd as I have been watching for a good while.

I am interested to see how Barao does though.

Nice body kick from Machida!

I can't wait for January 3rd I hope Cormier smashes him for 4.5 rounds then forces him to tap or knocks him out. Jones will be using his hand on his opponent's head tactic again to keep the distance. I can see this one being bloody.

Yeah, I hope the ref gives him a warning about it in the first 10 seconds to stop him doing it so much!

Should be a cracking fight!!!!!
