Any MMA/UFC fans here

Looking forward to the big fight tonight.

Most of all looking forard to Dan hardy (brit) vs Anthony Johnson (american).

Kinda sucks because I don't have any friends who are into MMA, they're more footy fans, so I have to watch the fights alone. :(

Would be interested to know if there are other MMA fans on this board

Close fight tbh. Davis has potential but his standup game needs a lot of improvement. Poor Hardy, i can see him being sent to Strikeforce.

Some good fights last night :).

The twister submission was fantastic!!

Davis wasn't very wonderfull at all. I don't remember any of his other fights off the top of my head but last night he showed no stand up and wasn't great on the floor. He just looked like a quick strong wrestler and not so much of a fighter.

Shame about Hardy. Johnson appeared to be a lot bigger but did seem to struggle. He dominated the fight but I don't think he looked like getting a submission.

Was a good win for Sadollah too.

I thought the Garcia v Zombie match was pretty good, not as good as their first encounter, but that was never going to happen.

I just knew that all the "I'm going to knock Dan Hardy's head off" garbage was just that and he'd take it to the floor pretty soon, as the Brits have a pretty poor ground game as a rule, John Hathaway excepted.

Sadollah looked pretty good, showing the potential we first saw on TUF, which starts next week as well.:)

As for the main event, Mr Wonderful, not quite mate.

I've been caught in one in training before, it's unpleasant and also rather embarrassing because you look like an idiot whilst it's being applied.

A lot of the 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu stuff is really good; lockdown for example is a much stronger position than the regular half guard that all MMA fighters use, it's a shame we don't see any of it utilised much.

Before the phil davis vs nog fight I was thinking that phil davis would walk through nog, but nog managed to hold his own on the first round [judes voted for davis to win for that round, which was totally wrong but it's crying over spilt milk after what davis did in the next two rounds where he would have won anyway if it was 29-28]

I was thinking that phil davis was a real contender against jon jones, but after that performance I doubt it, jon jones is going to have a much spectacular TDD and way better striking.

Jon jones knee strike is very good for keeping fighters at range, as soon a sthey come close he throws the knee strike.

Hardy is now on twitter calling for a fight with Lytle, yes it's potentially a good fight as Lytle loves to stand.

But seriously he can't hang with the top tier fighters, he is too 1 dimensional giving him a fight that he has a chance of winning because they will stand with him doesn't fix this issue.

He needs to take 6 months off and straight up grapple and wrestle everyday.

He needs more then 6 months.... you would have thought after gsp he would be wrestling/grapple daily.

Anyhow Dana white has said he loves that f* kid, so it doesnt look like hes being cut I think hardy knew this also.... a step down and going to titan/smaller mma companies would set him on the right path.

He along with Bisping are the UK golden boys, they are always going to be given more slack than your average fighter in the UFC.

I thought Hardy trained at 10th Planet and had been doing so for a long time, I didn't see any of that on display. He offered nothing from the bottom whatsoever.

Didn't think much of that night of fights Saturday.

I appreciate the onus is on Hardy to be able to defend takedowns or get back to his feet, but Johnson simply led on him for 3 rounds. The refs need to be more active in getting the fight back to its feet in situations like that. If he's doing damage, or advancing his position then fine, but he wasn't remotely interested, he did the bare minimum to score points. Worst fight of the year so far.

Great twister by the Korean Zombie though, never seen that in an MMA fight before!

How did the judges give the first round to Davis?
