Oh man do I hate listening to that UK commentator John Gooden. He just talks absolute and utter inane guff with an annoying voice and tries way too hard to be funny or interesting while managing to be neither. It is clear the other commentators don't respect him either. Any time John Gooden is there the commentary is awkward and unfunny as hell.

As for the fights:

-Meatball molly sucks and was finally exposed as a can kicker. Against high-level opponents she folds.
-Aspinall is an absolute beat and I would love to see him fight Gane, Spivac and Jones.
-The rest of the main card fights were pretty boring. Still need to watch the prelims.

Good card all round.

Only thing that winds me up is "Light HW" fighters weight in at 205.5lb, then balloon to over 225lb for the fight.... Rumours are that Pereira was 228lb on the night, Jan looked drained after 2 rounds as well. Decision could have gone either way to be honest.

Guess POIRIER VS GAETHJE 3 will be on the cards at some point.

Lewis is a funny man but Lima just seemed to keel over - Knee didn't appear to connect that clean but he went down like a sack of spuds.

Ferguson just needs to hang it up - was never in that fight, and another nasty finish does nothing for his long term "health" - 6 losses in a row, no wins since 4 years ago. Yes - those losses against pretty decent fighters but still I think his time is done now.

Decent card. LW bout didn't quite live up to expectations, I'm ok with the result though.

I'd expect a trilogy somewhere down the line but other than that there is nothing for Gaethje except a title fight imo which is going to be some way off unless the rumours about Oliveira pulling out of UFC 294 are to be believed.

Spanked him cleanly on the chin, 99% of people are going down.

Cory Sandhagen taking an American wrestlers route to win over the weekend, crowd had every right to be annoyed, Cory was not taking any risks to improve or deal damage.

You can only laugh at anyone trying to imply that Lima went down easily. Derick Lewis flying kneed him in the mouth then rained a barrage of punches on him. I mean seriously, wtf kind of numpty thinks that is anything except getting completely destroyed?

100% completely agree, @booyaka acting like a casual.
280lbs at least of man throwing an immediate flying knee as you meet in the middle, fresh as a daisy and it hits you square on the chin. Frankly we should all be more impressed Lima was not starched like an Askren/Edgar....
Not to mention the replay shown 20 seconds after the finish confirmed it hit perfectly on the chin.

On seeing it again last week - I will concur that watching the fight live then not seeing the replay properly I was wrong... It look at the time like it was not the cleanest connection but having watch it again a few times... I was wrong.

Trying to stay awake and watch it live can be a struggle sometimes! :p

Calling me a "casual" is a little bit harsh... I've been watching MMA for 15 years or so.

Like I say - watched once at 3/4am I didn't think it was that solid, on review, that was incorrect!

Please accept my apologies, casual was indeed a bit harsh and think it was more the lack of reply drove it home for me, having a rough week so I got everyone in my crosshairs!

For ref, I used to always watch them live at silly times about 10+ year ago, had to get out of the habit.

I am sure we can all agree, the knee was savage AF but also no one on this planet had that on a bingo card or bet for the evening, Derrick Lewis throwing a flying knee, let alone landing one, as the first strike of the fight.
Is this Earth I am on?
