With not being able to stay up/ always finding out the main fight result.

Combined with the main fight being exactly as you say and so many champions like this now. It's just boring.

Struggle to get excited for the fights now.

Too many "filler" cards these days.

business is business but so many of the fights these days are just dreadful. Quality has gone downhill due to it now being a numbers game.

click on the instgram post for full before and after

I used to be really into it. Like watched all the fight nights, pre lims. Now I just scrape through main events. Sometimes even with fast forward on hah.

That's a hell of a cut jeez.

Good card today. Main event was tremendous, best PPV for a while.
Really? Two meh women's fights, Holland getting a freak injury. Aldo fight was also meh.

Main event was good though, I'll give it that.

Were the prelims good? Haven't watched em yet.

308 lineup is looking excellent though...

A couple of the prelims were pretty good, definitely worth the watch

The PPV main event was amazing last night great showing from both guys

I'll reframe :D
Didn't watch it live, watched the prelims and the main card on and off throughout the first day of summer (clocks changed Saturday) in between doing a few other things that made me happy. Not watched UFC for about a month or two due to being in a European timezone during August and have found the last few big cards disappointing. I normally buy all the PPVs but this is the first one since July. Finished the title fight at 8:30pm after by which I had a few light ales, some wine and some pork ribs cooked for 4 hours in my new smoker. Was a great fight, thought the Aldo one was decent. Prelims were good even though all but one went to a decision. Chick fights were indeed meh but "the new Rhonda" showed that the female game has moved on so much that being the best at a single discipline no longer guarantee you easy wins. Also marvel at how Pena ever laid a glove on Nunes let alone beat her up. The main event was utterly brilliant, even though it was so one sided in the end the entertainment was top notch. What a champion he is.

Agree on 308. Can't wait.

Terrible event overall the refing and judges got so many fights wrong, talk about inconsistency with fighters trying to stall and clinch against the cage or holding people down.

One crazy ref gave I think 5 eye poke warnings without taking a point.

The judges got many fights wrong also, they also scored many of the fights incorrectly especially with Aldo and Pennington fights.

Only the main event where roundtree gave the champ one of his hardest test yet was a good showing.

They really need to fix the judging and referees!

Bit of a casual MMA fan here so this question may be dumb...

Why does no one ever try and take Pereira to the floor ? The guy is clearly the best in his division at striking and yet everyone just chooses to stand up and swing against him.

He is a kickboxer and supposedly has very little ground game yet I can't think of a single fight where anyone has even attempted a takedown ? Has LHW got a shortage of wrestlers or something ?

Not that I'm complaining, Id much rather every fight involve both guys standing up... but if you want to win surely the gameplan has to be to try and take him down ?

Off to top off my head, a few fighters have tried to get take owns and succeeded against Alex, it was jan blachowicz, also Jiri tried it and so did roundtree attempt it.

But as they all found out its not easy to take such a big guy such as alex down and hold him down, it also gasses them out as they all found out the hard way.

Its not new too alex anyhow, since he trains ground game defence and ji-jitus with one of the best ground specialist with his coach and mentor Glover teixeira a former ufc champ.

Didnt expect 307 to go the way it did. That commission needs a good look at itself.

That ref with the eye pokes needs to be suspended, he cant control a fight.
I dont agree with the Aldo decision at all.
Even though I really dont care, I dont agree with the Pennington Pena fight decision at all!

This is correct.
No one has been able to take him down and hold him down, apart from his first ever MMA fight.
Realistically there is no one in UFC top 10 with wrestler background outside of Ankalaev and Krylov, I'd favour Alex over either of those.

I'm looking forward to the battle of the giants, PFL World Heavyweight title Ngannou vs Ferreira on October 19th.

I've watched Ferreira for many years. The guy is good. He's more than capable of beating Ngannou.

He was also more than capable of getting completely destroyed. Ngannou took him down at will (and we all know how crap Ngannous ground game is) and then dominated him...

Very disappointing showing from Ferreira and if he is the best the PFL has to offer then Ngannous next fight may not be very interesting.

I think Ngannou somewhat announced his retirement during his win speech, he sort of said this was for my son and im done fighting.

Fighters don't understand when to stop, they retire and come back for the money and their health goes down hill so I hope the guy just retires and enjoys the fights.

Didn't he sign up to more than one fight?

Could be just saw this today

I wish he retired, but fighters gonna fight till the end
I don't think its a problem him not retiring yet, he is still the best heavyweight in the world and still wants to fight, he is not yet past his prime. Plus the competition in the PFL is not going to be as tough as the UFC so he will likely take less damage.
