yeah was wondering that myself if someones down a knee seems sorta brutal but guess if they cannot get up or are tired or beaten already there gonna have trouble getting back to there feet.

Rashad truely is the no1 contender cant wait too see him against bones or rampage for that matter.

Really do want Rashad to finish fights like he did this time round...

I genuinely can't see Rashad troubling Jones. I just think Jones is the future of light heavyweight, he looked so impressive against Shogun. He's a lot taller than Rashad, and has a massive reach advantage. Shogun struggled to get to Jones with punches, and he's got a longer reach than Rashad. I just can't see how he can beat him.

I'm looking forward to UFC 134 in Rio, it seems like a good card and I'm particularly looking forward to Shogun vs Griffin.

I know Jones is looking awesome and the future of mma, that reach and accuracy and speed and power backing it up is something any mma fighter will have difficulty in reaching.

I feel shoguns long lay off and injurys just was the worst thing when he was fighting him and he didnt look or feel like shogun, will be interesting too see how he performs against forrest.

I still reckon if anyone can close the distance its rashad :)

Brett Rogers beat up this wife, they couldn't keep him.

Overeem's management wont play ball with how business is done in America

Fedor was offered $500k to fight again, his management demanded $1.5million and co promotion at a minimum, was cut, after 3 losses in a row, one of which was to someone who was a weight class below him, the other was to two UFC rejects

Diaz had no one left to fight and the GSP/DIAZ super fight is above and beyond anything.

Nothing to do with Overeem's management, they actually agreed to all of ZUFFA's demands. There is a lot which has not been reported and Overeem actually was quite forthcoming when we spoke. Anyway, just a hint, you may be seeing him in the UFC shortly.

wow demanded 1.5million... even after they lost 3x in row, the managment really were the problem !

There is no other organisation that would pay in the millions left, so yeah guess retirement is only option.

There in lies Fedor's problem, his management. Dude needs to drop M1-Global and get some proper training done if he want to compete with the MODERN Mixed Martial Artists. If he's going to continue training like he's always done then it's time to call it a day and not tarnish his legacy further.

Any chance someone kind enough could explain to me what the repercussions are for a fighter when he/she doesn't make weight at a weigh in? Do they endure a penalty or a fine or something a long those lines?

You have one hour to drop the weight and they re-weigh you. If you don't make the weight second time round then it's up to your opponent whether or not they fight. If they choose to still fight you they take 50% of your purse.

what is the point in that?

sure get a picture with him or an autograph, but that is just stupid, your making the mma community look stupid and bad imo. it's not as if they were full force either he was just messing around.

From what ive seen in the past, Not concrete on this, But if they fail completely and do not get to the weight in subsequent tries, Their opponent has the right to pull out of the fight or fight them anyway, the ones where they choose to fight anyway the person who fails to make weight usually give up 50% of the purse to their opponent.

yeah but the mma community has a bad name, people associate them as being stupid meatheads and thugs.

that red neck on the ultimate fighter who went crazy in a hotel after getting into the final is a clear example of this.

also the drunk guy wearing an affliction t shirt heckling joe rogan, etc.

dana white has been trying for years to establish mma as being the exact opposite, he has actually done so much to improve its image.

those videos are plain stupid, what did you learn? we already know he can punch and kick hard he is a world champion. you just let him hit you, that is plain stupid, even the guy watching is making fun of you in the video. why didnt you try grappling with him? that would have been much more fun and a learning experience, being used as a punch bag is plain stupid.

anyone who is a true mma fan will be disappointed that you uploaded this onto youtube. im going to post it on an mma forum and im sure the responses will be similar to mine.

i think dana white chooses how much of the purse goes to the other fighter and i think it usually depends on the amount you miss the weight by or if you have done it repeatedly, they also usually have backup fighters ready for these situations usually but they are nobodies.

i think thiago alves gave up 75% once or twice of his purse.

I found it quite funny :)

And I know full well of the image Dana White has created of the sport.

I'm sure they picked up a lot of tips off camera.
