**The Official Everything MMA Related Thread**

Forgot this was on until I seen on BBC the main event was about to happen,
quickly went to put it on, nope as its TNT box office,
this is another reason I moved away from the sport.

Along with, it gets tiring watching every fighter you like get beaten, which is what happened in the main and co main here.
If they PPV it on TNT then I just watch on youtube a few days later.

Just watched the Whittaker v Chimaev demolition.

There's not really anyone else out there that is so frighteningly good at dominating opponents, even when they know exactly what's coming. His wrestling is insane and decision-making, tire em down, slow the fight a bit, start to soften them up and then BAM into a submission at lightning speed the second there's a tiny opening. So good to watch.....hope they don't PPV his title fight.

Can't fight in the US though. Who is next for DDP, is it Strickland? Is the winner of that going to take his title to Abu Dhabi to take him on? I suppose they will if they pay enough and Dana tells them to, doesn't seem right though.

Awake and ready for the main card, as much as I'm not a fan of the Jones v Miocic match up from a championship perspective, I can't not watch a legacy match up of two legends of the sport - I just hope the winner steps up and fights Aspinall

I feel like Stipe is retired already so if he loses tonight I expect he will make it official. If he wins he'll go until he loses which maybe to Aspinall.

Jones has had both out the door for years and won't fight anyone he doesn't think he'll beat unless it's for boxing money(hint hint). Win or lose tonight I think he's gone as there is no one with the money power to get him in the cage. Next fight for Jones is Jake Paul.

It was like watching Tyson v Paul all over again.... Jones never looked like loosing and Stipe looked old, tired, out of sorts.... Should NEVER had got that fight in the first place in my opinion.

If Jones dodges Aspinall again to fight Alex Pereira, that's going to suck. Genuinely think Tom has a great chance against Jones.

Called it. Stipe retired and JJ is pricing himself out of the fight he should be taking, Tom Aspinall, just like he did with Ngannou. He's done in the UFC. Now we wait and see if I get the triple and Jake Paul steps in.

Just went to watch it. Either my box didn't record or main event was PPV again.

BBC spoilered the result anyway so shrugs.

I did just watch Jim miller fight on the prelims. He must be getting on now.

As for Jones. Feel like he will dodge Aspinall. A bit weird when you have an interim champion who can't fight for the belt.

Jones saying he will retire if he doesnt get Alex Pereira next, guy should just hang up his gloves at this point, embarassing he won't fight the interim champion

Well that was a disappointing fight really, I expected more from Stipe. I've seen a lot of 'old man' comments but I think there's more to it, he's 42 and looked in good shape, while Jones is no spring chicken at 37. I'd like to think if he didn't have his head smashed in in the first round by Jones' GNP he'd have put up a better fight. And obviously Jones is just phenomenally good.

As much as these fights are entertaining, the UFC HW division is screwed thanks to the superstar status of Jones and Dana having been unable to let him go the past few years...it's become a charade, far from the early days, or even not that long ago really, when top guys would be scrapping constantly. Tom Aspinall's been treated like a muppet. I think Jones will duck Tom, physically he looks like crap as a HW and Tom is a natural HW, young and fast, too much of a risk for him. A Pereira fight at LHW would be good.

Dana is adamant that he is going to pay Jones to fight Aspinall, im pretty sure of that. Otherwise he will be stripped of the belt.

As for Stipe, he hadn't been in the ring in almost 4 years, he doesn't train constantly, he is 42... he did not look in great shape on anything except Embedded clips that are designed to show him at his best. In the rin he looked slow and very lacking in killer instinct.
