Not saying it would have changed the result, but Shields lost his dad only 3 weeks ago, even though he took the fight I can't see him being mentally ready for it.

He will bounce back i'm sure. Ellenberger looked good, dude has serious power :)
 
You lot are talking about jake shields losing a recent fight, what was that fight night called? I think I have missed something here...

The last two fight nights I watched were "UFC 134 - Silva vs Okami" and "Strikeforce - Barnett vs. Kharitonov", I watched prelims and main card for both fight nights.

Can someone please explain as I dont like to miss any fights.

UFC Fight Night 25 was on Saturday 24th.

Don't see how Hendo wins that at all, bad bad match up for him.

He hits harder than Shogun, but Shogun has a chin of solid granite, all around better stand up, solid enough TDD to avoid getting put on his back too often, and is dangerous even if he is forced on his back.

Its a great match up, one I'm really looking forward to, but I think Hendo is going to be in for a long night before losing a UD.
 
He only just eeked out a split decision against Ninja, as long as Shogun can avoid the H-bomb he will easily take this by decision, he has far better standup and if taken down will get up.

Another bit of MMA news is Hector Lombard, Bellators MW champ has agreed to fight Renato Babalu Sobral at LHW. Shoule be a good fight, apparently Babalu beat up Lombard in training once, as he was picking on all the smaller fighters and hurting them in sparring.

Cant help but feel you guys are over-rating Shoguns take down defence. Should be a cracking fight though.

Cant see where Shields goes from here except 185, he wont get a W in 170 - his wrestlings OK but his stand ups rubbish, people like Koscheck will murder him and he aint ever getting another shot at GSP after that fight, ask Fitch about his chances of a rematch :)
