I would imagine he walks around at 225-230. If he packs on 20 pounds of muscle a la Frank Mir, he would still be outweighed by the big boys by 30-35 pounds on fight night. Could he then outwrestle people the way he has done so far? Will be interesting to see what happens with him regardless. He looks quite a bit in advance of the other contenders in his weight class at the moment, but it only takes one punch or a moment of inattention to lose.

I really wish the UFC would put in a Cruiserweight class at 225 or 230. 205-260 is just such a huge gap to fill and it would leave the smaller heavyweights like Mir a more competetive division without the big weight penalty of fighting guys 30 pounds heavier.
 
I'm not saying JJ is not talented, he clearly is in both striking and wrestling etc.

But the big thing that people at 205 cannot get around is his reach, and even though even at HW he still has the biggest reach, with most people at HW it's only 3-4 inches rather than the foot he has currently.

I agree they need cruiserweight, and also possible an absolute division with no weight limit.

The problem is there are not enough fighters in HW as it is.
 
True would love to see those weight classes, hopefully with bigfoot silva and werdum rumors coming to ufc and overeem already in ufc... were just waiting on cormier and josh to settle perhaps the last strikeforce heavyweight champ...

UFC just announced 34 fights for 2012 from 27 this year... I think they know strikeforce is going and soon will hopefully have much more heavyweights to that division.
 
I think he's got good TDD and decent wrestling, but yeh on his back he's done. I think he's been submitted a few times.

He's just so explosive, a handful for most people in the first round.

Is the fight at 155lbs?

I think if people are worried about spoilers then I hope they wouldn't open this thread haha. These refs need to stop standing guys up just because meatheads are booing.

Sincerly hope Chael rips Silva a new one.
 
I can't stand Sonnen the guy is a grade a ****.
He is talented but he runs his mouth and everything that comes out of is is complete rubbish I get bored of listening to him.
His style is boring as well for 4 1/2 rounds against Silva he had him on his back and did next to no damage, lay and pray at its best.
Hope Silva knocks him out so he disappears.

Last nights card was decent enough, Guillard fight :o Think pretty much everything seemed to be in his favour that was quite a shock.

Edgar, man this guy is something else. I have no idea how he stays up after that beating and then from the second round on come out and just win so comfortably with his boxing and movement which was sublime.

Florian fight was ok neither man really did a great deal they seemed to be so cautious of each other that none really wanted to engage.
