**The Official Everything MMA Related Thread**

Anyone else generally getting bored of TUF? It's season 14 now and I'm generally going a bit meh on it all. Time for a huge shake up? Dana has some plans regarding it being on Fox.

New layout, music etc will now be unveiled in January.

Don't forget, it's going to be LIVE now, big brother style, so that could make things more interested and make the show less staged obviously. Hopefully they'll be more drama/arguments etc.

can't stand cheal, he shouldn't be fighting, but his wrestling is very close to absinthe best in the UFC, and the promo at the end got me excited.

I disagree with the comment "he shouldnt be fighting"...the anderson silva fight made him number 2 in the world in many peoples minds.

I can understand you saying you dont like the guy though, I see a lot of people say that these days but I actually like the guy for all the trash talking he does, I think hes quite funny some of the stuff he comes out with.

Look at what he said at the end of his last fight to anderson, that was great trash talk for the UFC and will make the next fight even more exciting.

Yeah I'm a bit bored of TUF.

I really enjoyed the first few seasons especially when there's arguments going on. Chris Leben and Koscheck immediatley spring to mind. They don't seem to have much stuff going on in the episodes apart from fights. This season has been good though with Akira vs Neace and obviously Bisping vs Miller.

this seasons tuf is hilarious and fun to watch... frankly its better then watching reality shows, I hope they dont reality tuf though.....

I love the way miller just throws water at bisping....

the best thing about that is the bonuses, fighters should get a bonus for putting on exciting fights. it should be in all sports, not just fighting. would make people take more risks.

take GSP for example i bet you he doesn't get any bonuses, well not in a long while anyway, his fights are bore fests.

He may take fights to decisions, but name me a recent boring GSP fight?

He is not a lay and prayer, either he out strikes or out grapples people, or both.

Its not that his fights are particularly boring (although I'd go so far as to say they arent the most exciting out there!), its that everything he does is "safe" - you cant blame the guy, he's that good that why should he take a risk but it doesnt always make for the most exciting fight!

Case in point, the Dan Hardy Fight - Hardy known as a striker so he continually took him down - nothing wrong with that but it would have been more exciting had he stood with Hardy!

He wants to stay the champ so fights that way, and to be fair nobody really brings it to him.

Condit will and I'm excited to see GSP having to fight under fire. As would Diaz.

the promo at the end is changin my mind, but i still think, once banned you shoud be banned.

due to his drugs

due to his drugs

A large percentage of elite athletes are on performance enhancing drugs, he's just unlucky enough to get caught. Tiger Woods has better than perfect vision because of laser eye surgery, should we ban him?
I agree that 'everyone does it' is a pretty poor justification, but when your at the top of your game you'll do whatever it takes to stay/get there.

I'd say most UFC fighters are on some form of PEDs. They almost have to be to stay competitive. I think there should be much stricter rules regarding drug use. All fighters should be tested during their training and before fights. If no one is taking them then the playing field is level once again.

I don't know if the above is logistically viable or how much it would cost, probably way too much.

how do people know that PED use is so rife?

and if PED use is so common would you want to see the sport without them? olympic style testing would be the way to go

Pretty sure PED's will be quite prevalent in the Olympics aswell, in fact they were invented/developed specifically for the Olympics! The whole Ben Johnson/Carl Lewis thing in 88, Marion Jones from 00-08 etc. etc.

When you think about it, it's weird how sports groups decide what's allowed and what's not. Cortisone shots are very common in high level sport, that's a steroid that undoubtedly improves your performance but its fine.
