I have tried pretty much every IF in the game that is worth a try. IF Cattermole is a really good CDM but only play him as a two man CDM in 4-2-3-1 or 4-2-2-2. He doesn't attack at all because he has low attack work rate. I find he actually acts like a 3rd CB most the time. He will cover your CB's if they woder off. Like if you have David Luiz in your team, Cattermole will fall back and cover his posistion since Luiz likes to push up a lot.

Really good for breaking up play and getting the ball away. He is a good player but I would say players like Song, Mikel, Barry and Yaya are better CDM's as they offer more but as I said, he works great in a two man CDM set up. I just wouldn't use him as a lone CDM. Never tried him as a CM in a 3 man midfield but I don't think a low attacking midfielder is a good idea.

Perfect then. He will sit back while Gerrard makes runs.

Give it a try. I had him partnered with Yaya Toure and that worked great for me... but felt if I was playing good and was on the attack a lot, he becomes lost in the game. Have someone on the bench to sub him if you're cruising in a game.

TOTY Mavuba > TOTY Cabaye. If you want a better CDM, go for Mavuba. I found Cabaye to work better as a CM/CAM. His defensive stats aren't worth putting in as CDM. His long shots are not to be wasted, I'd stick him as a CAM instead of kagawa. Kagawa is a weak little boy.

Mavuba should get 9 chem with Fanni link up.

Ive already got Robben in my French team so was gonna reuse him, Blaszczykowski doesnt seem half as good. Im ok with Piszcek on 5, not brillant but cant do much with it :(

I really want to try TOTY Cabaye in a similar role as Gerrard plays for me - be useful with TOTY Gustavo being the rock. Though Im still not certain who to play there as Sissokos been great and hes cheap. Kagawa should be fine, expecting him to play like Modric.

Still no idea anout STs, too much choice...

Its more should I get SIF Podoski and sub in Ronaldo or just go to another other league and try and get double link STs together (doesnt have to be BPL, just most used to the differing STs there). not too worried about the detail yet til I get the coin together...

He should be a CAM in the game anyway since RM play 4-2-3-1.

I honestly don't put much thought into strikers these days. Since finding Gomez to be so effective with the right support behind him (102 goals/58 games ;)), I'd rather put more effort into other posistions. You just need someone that can finish from anywhere. Must be good with his head too.

In order, my top 5 strikers in Fifa 12.

been toying with the idea of getting SIF Ade for my 4231 side, looks like a good lone st

True but 97% of this thread is about team building and asking for advice on what players to use.

Everyone on here seems to dislike TOTY Giroud but I found him to be a good goal scorer.

Same can be said about in game stats. Some players perform better than their stats... and some perform worse.. and some perform better in Fifa than they do IRL (Nilmar). Its a silly game.

btw, IMOTM 90 Alonso?
 
Awesome games again, Jon :D

EPL 4-4-1-1 team all on the market, loving the 4-2-3-1 team but not sure if it plays so well because it just does, or because of the lower rating, so planning to upgrade Marcelo to IF, Silva to SIF, Maicon to IF, Neymar to SIF & Ibra to TOTY and keep 2 squads using NIF's of anyone who hasn't got an IF, and see which of that 2 actually plays better!
