Just need a VGA cable and I can do the same. S-Video just does'nt cut it. Couldnt get the res setup right.

syke, Im liking the team. Decided to have another go with my team. Nov 2008.

I shall post my team when Ive got past the Jan transfer window. I have £39m to spend now. Hopefully this would be boosted a little in Jan :D
 
just seen that Football Manager 2009 is available for pre-order on steam !! $49 which after tax is probably the same price as the retail ...

yeah im quite aware it can be bought for probably £10 cheaper as most PC games bought over the net benefit that way, its just some of us prefer digital copies over boxed so steam is great in that respect (if not more costly)

Yeah I kinda hate putting the disk in. My main worry would be my steam friends seeing how much I play Football manager!!!

For me they add just enough new content each year to render the old game obsolete, the steady progression from the old cm2 cm3 days is amazing to watch. FM09 looks like it's going to have some pretty impressive new features allthough I wish it was still as easy as in the olds days!
 
5 draws in my last 8 games have cost me the title. Finished 3 points behind Inter. :(.
Still won the EuroSuperCup and ive got the CL final and Coppa final to make up for it. :p.
Asuming i dont get sacked, i think this could be quite good for my team, who are perhaps too used to winning.

Got Fabregas coming at the end of the season, aged 25, cost me £64m. :-o.

And depending on what budgets i get, im gunning for Sergio Ramos as well.:D

Question, my keepers are Akinfeev & Agliardi. Agliardi is 29, but is technically better than Akinfeev.
Do i sell Igor for around £20m, and bring in Ustari for £5m whos better than Agliardi, and is 25.

Ordinarily, its a no-brainer, but Igor has been pretty loyal to me thus far....

Though i'd just quote myself here. I've been reading the sigames forum. I read this fantastic question which sort of applies to me but i'm sure a lot of people will be very interested in.

You can still buy the game without steam...

Anyway say I buy the DVD version rather than order off steam (I have an evil download limit at the moment), then I associate my install with steam can I play without having the disk in the drive, I really hate having to put discs in drives and change which one is in there and stuff.

This is awesome you can buy the retail version and apply it to steam. This has all the benefits - buy the game cheaper and then use steam to play it without a cd!!! :) Am I the only one who is over the moon with this?

Now that is great news. I shall be taking full advantage of this and I praise you for bringing it to my attention (mainly because I am too lazy to visit the SI Games forums at the moment).
 
Guys, was wondering what everyone thinks is the ULTIMATE FM comp setup, I guess its all down to the CPU right ? you just need the fastest cpu you can get to make the game fly. RAM and GPU are not really that important. I got 4GB and a E6700 @ 3.65Ghz but can only think of getting a better clocking Dual or Quad core to improve speed.
 
CPU is important yes but RAM also.

I think FM supports quad-core or if not will in FM09 so theoretically a quad-core would be the best CPU. 4GB should be enough RAM unless you want or need more. :p
 
I dont think the current FM benefits much/at all from more than one core.
Ive got a quad, and i see no performance difference when i set the games affinity to one core.

It'll be cool if 09 supports quads though. :D.
