4-4-2 with the two wide midfielders pushing right up.

A season of what could have been. Beaten by 3 points to the league by chelsea, beaten 2-1 with a 90 min penalty in the FA cup final by chelsea and out on pens in the semi final of the champers league by barca!! not happy!!

But got the nigeria job so currently doing the african cup of nations in the summer break and £31mill to spend @ man utd next season.

Put an £17million offer in for Vela and look at the arsenal reponse below:eek::eek::eek::eek:

 
Uninstalled FM this morning after I started new season, drew first 5 games with Sunderland then lost 5-3 to Spurs after going 3-0 up at half time :P It's probably the game I hate the most and love the most at the same time. Probably install it later today :/

Don't think I've ever got as annoyed with a game as I do with this one. Bloody thing!

In case anyone else wants it also, I use a great skin called "Flex" made by someone that I found when browsing the FM 2008 forums on SIGames. You can download it here, it's worth a look. Just make sure to untick the "use cache" option for skins, otherwise when you reload the game it won't display the skin properly.

i know what you mean, the scores can be crazy, and i never ever think the game is won at half time even at 3 - 0 up, seen so many games turned on there head, makes me think the half time team talk is SO important
 
Has anyone had any luck with Alexandre Pato? whatever tactics I use he just never seems to score :confused:

The really annoying thing is on one of my other games hes on practically a goal a game when managed by the A.I. :(

very nice link. theres a few articles about teamtalks etc over at Fm-Britain really going into depth about all the teamtalks player interactions etc.
 
Currently still unemplyed after quiting Man Utd. Not played the game for ages. Im getting into the mood again to play it. Hopefully I can get a decent job.

Last season he got me something like 29 in 36. This season he's on 9 in 17 upto now.

I find that the AI has some special way to get the best out of players.
Ive never once had a player have an average season rating of 7.75 or above, yet the AI gets it all the time.
Players that i can never get to perform, always do well with the AI?

Yeah theres only a few very special players that I've managed to get an avaregae rating for season over 8, Ronaldinho and Aguero spring to mind.
 
Monday 20th December 2010, I take over as the new Liverpool boss :D

Won my first game at home to West Ham 2-0. They have a decent team already here, the board have gave me £37m to spend though, which I would be looking to spend on a few players in the January transfer window.

After the first win, we are currently in 4th. 8 points behind Man Utd in top spot. Then Man City are 2nd 4 in front of us with a game in hand though and Chelsea are 3rd only 2 points in front of us. Spurs are 5th, 2 behind us.

The board are expecting the title in the next 2 seasons. Im looking at getting into the Champions League this season (top 3) then next season, fresh start, hopefully I'l be up there challenging for the title.

This is going to be intresting :)

Daniel Alves is another one, for me at least. I've played him at full back and wing back and he always performs. He is first on my short-list whenever I start a new team.
 
really nice thread, tagged. I just bought FM08 after some friendly info from another thread.

gonna get these names and kits sorted then give it a whirl.
 
ok so i spent an evening on FM08 :D loving it! The story so far...

well just choosing a team in the premiership was hard enough as i didnt want too good a team that they wanted to win or do real well. (just incase i was rusty) So i plumped for Reading.

After playing around with my staff i have a pretty good training camp if the ******** would stop stealing my scouts... ive lost 2/3 now :(

I signed a real good young goal keeper but his kicking is 6 :( so when he kicks it barely makes the half way line... is there anything i can do to improve this skill? although its comical to watch it kinda puts the team in trouble lol.

I cant seem to get any work permits atm, they are always rejected... any way of improving chances of successful permits (yes i have apealed when turned down.)

If you've got a young keeper then see if you can get him to "interact" with an older keeper who has better kicking. Just tell him he could learn from so and so or could do with copying so and so' approach to the game. After a while, your younger keeper should "learn the moves" of the older player. Not so sure if this would work as well with keepers as for outfield players.
