nikebee;10430388 I don't have a parent club at the moment. The board couldn't find a suitable club the last time I looked. How often can you pester them about this before they end up getting fed up with you? Once a month said:
I dont know the exactly how often you can pester the board, I think its 3 times in a season, so probably every 3/4 months, but don't quote me on that.

Its not always likely that they will find anyone either, in the lower levels they only try and link you with clubs local to yourself, so they may consider all the top sides in the Premiership as being too far away, but as you improve that should change.

However, I don't think they change their minds easily either. In my Spurs game they offered me 3 Irish sides, I already had one, and didn't want another so rejected the 3 recommendations, and then they automatically search again for you, and guess what...they came back with 3 more Irish sides. I again rejected them, so waiting on 3rd time lucky.

Bojan is worth every penny. Hes my top scorer at Spurs so far this season.

Bojan is indeed a class act, but very difficult to come by, there is also another quality youngster at Barca by the name of Iago, he plays as an AML and can usually be had for around £2m if purchased before he starts playing for the 1st team.

The perfect compromise, thanks to the origional poster for already removing the pics I don't want to annoy I just like to play the game a bit more old school. I'm not sure that ferguson and wenger have databse hacks to help them find the next star!

haha yeah I know were your coming from, but the post over at SUSIE everyone loved it so thought I would share it over here. Myself I prefer finding players myself etc, its like my mate who doesnt use attribute masking and cant wait for FM Genie

I don't think I'd be able to play the game if I knew who the great players all around the globe were.

I like starting with lower teams, only getting to scout the country I play in... and it's pot luck then if I decide to sign that guy from Spain based on the one or two attributes I can see...:p

you need to make your own place, my docs > sport interactive > football manager 2008 > graphics

then create 3 folders

Logos
Facepacks
Kits

place anything u download in there

In game make sure Use Skin Cache is UNTICKED
And have Reload SKin on Confirm TICK (not necessary but easier if you install new stuff etc)

Cheers!

i was looking for the folder in the FM08 directory as I have had to replace kits every year in there. Makes more sense to get them from my documents i suppose!

Just started my first game as manager of Basingstoke :D This could be interesting :p the only aim I've been given for the year is to avoid relegation :D

I hadn't realised that the system had changed until last night. Wondered where the ruddy folders were. Suppose this is quite a good system as it means you can only get graphics working from one place as opposed to game folder and My Docs like last year and before.

A realistic aim? :p

Thanks :) I'll read through that now. First time I've tried with a really low league team :)

its bags of fun, lower league management is what makes Football Manager :)

Exactly I always start off with Bury and get them promoted as high as possible and then I try to jump ship to a Championship club and work from there. It's too easy to start with a top ten team as you'll likely to do well for a few years and that gets quite tedious. Glad to see that you can manage in the Blue Square Premier I might give that a go.

yeah i had to take bojan on loan 1st season and luckily we won the league so managed to persuade him to stay on :)

alt-tabs back in to search for Iago

my current thoughts on fm08 after playing fm07 hardcore for a month is that fm08 needs a lot of polish, its a few patches away from being a great game I feel.
