***The Official Forza Motorsport 3 Thread***

Is MP actually working properly?

I got into a few races last night, and then gave up as it kept dumping me into empty games, and it's still doing it today.

Which would be ok if people joined said empty game, but no one ever does.

I had that all of friday, saturday though I was getting into games and this morning was fine aswell.

Check your network on the xbox to make sure that it's open.

This is probably a stupid question but how do i do this?

Have the same problems with mp. I always join empty lobbies. i have managed to have a few private races though.

Press the controlers center button, scroll to right to the Settings tab, then select System Settings, then Network Settings and Test.

It could be teething problems with game but it's a good idea to check the network just to be sure.

Yeh I'm getting a bit ****ed off with trying to play this online. Nearly all the time I join empty servers (only once have I got into a game with 2 other people in it. Both of which were much slower than me and both left after 2 races :p)

Hope this gets fixed....

Driving heaven for me has to be the NSX-R GT around Fujima (the long winding mountain track) :)

Look forward to doing that track actually.

Havnt really got playing the game as only started calibrating the screens late last night and although not perfect got it looking well so far. Briefly been doing some "Free Play" in the Ferrari F430. Damn, this looks and feels incredible on Suzuka so Im looking forward to trying out the game proper.

I actually feel sorry for you guys with one screen, even a projector as this is the best driving sensation, well certinly the most satisfying Ive experienced at home, going back to single screen feels terrible now :D

Still some perfecting to do in setting it up but I strongly advise any of you to consider doing this.
It gives a great sensation of 3D openness within the track/enviroment and not like driving looking out of small window.
Ive just been messing with passing cars and letting them repass me enjoying it.

So let me get this right....

You need 3 Xbox's, 3 copies of the game, not to mention 3screens....
So how many people are actually gonna run that :)

Also, the dash pictures look odd... the left/middle screens look good, but the right screen is skewed and the dash looks odd.

You guys know full well what is needed to play the game this way.
The triple monitors will work on a PC if I wanted, the usage of the screens doesnt have to be tied down to this one game so be realistic.

Maybe some of you however should price a top end graphics card and maybe even a TH2G card to play something similar like this on PC, take SHIFT as an example in triple screen hardware mode on a PC, its likely to need even more expensive hardware to run as well as this does. Perfect example to prove my point and TFT prices as well as 2nd hand consoles isnt that bad. I remember forking out £550 each on 3x 19" TFTs only a few years back for a triple display PC desktop thats even more common these days.

I agree the cockpit screen looks a little odd but in playing it isnt as bad. Do remember as stated it still is not fully aligned 100% perfect and in taking photos of this you have to be in the prime sweet spot to get it look correct which is difficult. Although as your sitting on the left of the car then thats part of the reason. Also when playing you dont fully stare at the side screens like you are in these small photos. Ive seen the same weird effect from pictures posted on other PC games in triplehead, GRID being one but can only say in playing its grand.

For some reason just looking at those pictures of the 3-screen setup makes me feel ill, I'm sure I'd get horrendous motion sickness if I were using it :o

Urgh, got the game a day early (delivered by royal mail aswell!) and was well chuffed, got right into playing it last night and was looking forward to another session tonight, but my xbox is giving me the RRoD, Gutted :(

Trying the towel trick at the moment, hope it works.

How on earth do you drift? Have been attempting it in the demo but end up hitting the opposite wall all the time

I just let off the throttle, tap the handbrake then get straight back on the throttle making sure that I'm high in the rev range. It takes some getting used to. I used a 4WD Mitsubishi GTO with 90% of the torque going to the rear wheels.

Has anyone tried to upload a movie yet, i made a nice short clip of me murdering myself on the last corner of road ameria, spent a long time uploading but it hasn't yet appeared on my online profile.

Otherwise my only problem is hard ai are annoying on certain tracks in later events, really have to pass as many of them in the first corner as possible or you're held up for a long time with the pack leader shooting off into the distance, often too far ahead for me by the time i'm in 2nd position. Having to drop to medium ai in some races for that.

I love the way that Mr Latte keeps posting pictures of his 3 xbox, 3 screen, 3 carefully arranged copies of Forza on the desk etc etc and everyone keeps ignoring him, denying him the OMG HOW LEET R U he so blatantly craves :p It's worse than those cheesy piles of money people post in show us your desk threads.

I'm absolutely loving this game although some of the event descriptions are a bit random. I'm doing Class A Speedway, 'Where agility is the only way to the top!'

Agility? It's 3 oval races :D

Drift guide:
http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/1/714570/ShowThread.aspx

The old FM2 website used to have a good guide including example videos but it may have gone into the void when they updated to the FM3 site.
video.google should find some though.

EDIT: While up to now i've made no comment on this matter, I'm intrested in seeing a tripplescreen setups.. It's like I have a remote micro heli but I'll watch a Turbine powered bit of kit (that cost 100 times more) on youtube with intrest.. Information demystifies the cost and requirments that can help others determine if they would find it worthy for themselves or not.

Actually i dont buy this stuff to please you guys i do it to please myself, although as some are aware I do LOTS to help the community with reviews and previews of hardware etc.

Sorry youve got it wrong.
Ive also been a member on these forums a long time and know fully what kind of posts/reactions to expect. Im sharing my opinion and experience of the game just as you are allowed to share yours, thanks.

yo guys

could some one tell me where the air field map is???

i keep seeing people taking pics of what looks like a free roam map and i have no idea what its called or how to get to it???

Racing on New York with the chicanes against the AI is funny, playing chicken on the breaks and watching them nail one of the walls and cause a multi car pileup never gets old!

Ok the invalid lap thing is DRIVING ME OUT OF MY TINY MIND

One tiny mistake half a mile from the finish line, and not only is that lap invalid (fair enough) but the NEXT one as well !!?!?!?! Trying to get a fast time around La Sarthe is quite possibly one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had in a driving game.

AAAAAARRRGGHHHHHH :(
