***The Official Forza Motorsport 3 Thread***

One thing, im doing the Season play but i noticed i aint done a lot of races? I take it as i go through it will do more and more?

It says it happens when you turn your console off on the Storefront thing. Just don't do it?
I always come right out of the game, then hit A so it loads the menu again after saving - then switch the console off.

Thing is though I wasn't in the storefront. Last night I turned it off when I was looking through the car list. And today when I turned it on I had forgotten to sign in, so as the game was loading I signed in through the Xbox button, and now I get this.

Apparently there's a fix coming, but I can't do anything except delete my save now :(

Right, i've decided to join the party, just been and bought a Xbox 360 Elite just for Forza 3 :D, (got Fifa10 with it too), anyway, i've just got in and can't play on it yet as the missus has taken over the telly, i'll have a look maybe later or even tomorrow now.

Tie her up and lock her under the stairs.

So far this has been my trick with all cars, buy and go into the upgrade shop (not quick upgrade) Now decide what you want the car for, if its for non-class restricted racing, ie you want maximum power and performance, then go to the far right and look at engine swaps or aspiration changes and buy as necessary, these upgrades affect the other available upgrade trees and so its cheaper to do this first and then do the other part swaps.

If your car is for class restricted races DO NOT change the aspiration or engine or drivetrain as you will likely increase your performance index a large amount without gaining much immediate performance.

Now the general upgrade pattern following those mentioned above goes like this-

Brakes and tyres, max them out super wide slicks on aftermarket rims, changing the wheel dimensions only seems to affect the car negativley so i leave it out.

Weight reduction - maximum weight reduction recommended

Aero - Add both front and rear adjustable spoilers

Engine mods- Apply as many of these as you can until you are around 30 point off your car going up a class(obviuously if you are modding all the way just buy whatever you can) if your car is turbo focus on turbo upgrades

Transmission - use whats left of your Pi to improve shift time

Seems pretty obvious and im sorry if anyone feels like im teaching them to suck eggs or whatever but this has left every car ive driven miles ahead of the competition in power and performance ith little need to fine tune.

Good tip for cash, fully upgrade an NSX GT-R to R3 class and hire a driver to do the R3 endurance race over and over, this will net you 85k per session at 63 mins a throw, ive got up to about 1.5m now without much driving, you need to be level 20 to unlock the endurance events. These events are great for levelling up too, the A class endurance at suzuka takes around an hour and will net you over 90k XP which will put you up a bunch of levels until you are level 30 or so and the R class events will net you over 100k exp

*note XP given is equal to the default cash reward for the track

Again sorry if the big forza heads find this post a bore but im new to the franchise and these are my tips so far that are working very well

argh help my hdd has died while playing forza its still on and the game works but the HDD it crunching and clicking, does anyone know if theres a way to get the save onto mem card from the menu's before i turn off and lose the whole damn thing?

balls thats that then, there was no option to change storage device so the whole damn thing is shot such a shame i was level 30 too with 2m credit and 15% career done :( im gonna attempt to recover the drive using some IT wizardry but im not hopeful as it sounds like the heads have crashed POS drive

When using cockpit mode the driver doesn't move his hands to change gear but if you choose the outside car view and look from side on, you will see he does move his hand.

Odd.

Here is my attempt at something arty.

Guess which one is me.

Nice few tips there, do you not fit any suspension mods?

Some question about multiplayer.

Can you use your own custom designs in MP?

I wanted to do some street street races, but with more regular cars, but it doesn't allow me to choose a class type - there is just "any class". Is this something that unlocks later? Is there some sort of filter that I am missing somwhere. Because this really is a drawback for me.

Is there no way to to customised races for general MP? Or is it only available in private races?

While I have enjoyed the single player and the private games I played Saturday night, I haven't really gotten on with public MP, because of the reasons above and other reasons too.

And if the public MP is going to be as restrictive as it is appearing to me now, I won't be keeping this all that long, because I HATE a game that relies on having private matches to have fun.

Yes you can use your own designs, as long as that option is selected on the server filter you selected which it appears to be on them at the moment.

The servers are not fully setup, they're missing a lot of classes and I think they'll add more over the coming weeks as the game is released in the US tomorrow.

Custom MP lobby has now gone, only custom games are private races with invites... Dumb I think!

All I can suggest is you give it a few months, it appears from what I have read that T10 have gone in a new MP direction and that they're trying new things out. I for one hope that they had in the custom MP lobby option but in the meantime all I want is for racing Class R-F on any of the tracks with assists off etc..

not usually unless im supertuning or i want specifically adjustable suspension for say drag racing or oval speed laps. Im specifically talking about modding cars for the SP game here though, the AI is flawed in that it cant overtake very well unless they can out power you on a straight meaning even if your a 'little' slower in the bends as long as youve got the horses to power out and the brakes to stop late you should win easy. Although see my above posts ive now gotta start the whole game again lol
