***The Official Forza Motorsport 3 Thread***

Hey,

Had a skim through and saw the tips for general racing but can anyone give any tips as to what upgrades are likely to help when it comes to Drift Cars.

e.g. Do I want bigger tyres/wheels at the back? any sort of performance mods that would help? Suspension wise too. I know it's a lot to ask, just i'm not to clue'd up on what makes a good drift car.

I'm Currently using A silvia of some description :)

I tried removing my disc 1 install last night in an attempt to get rid of sound popping/glitching but it's still doing it, sometimes when accelerating, the rev sound doesn't increase even tho the rev counter is going up!

Could these problems be down to using HDMI?

Could be, it's definitely not happening to me with audio over optical.

So, I bought Forza 3 LE yesterday and about to pop it in now and install disk 2/exclusive cars & whatnot - BUT! I'm looking to get a 120Gb HDD for crimbo, and i'm right in thinking that as long as I use the transfer cable from my existing 20Gb to the new one everything will transfer and work fine, yes?

I just don't want to use these one time codes and then not be able to use the cars when I upgrade in a couple of months time!

Yes all licences are transferred.

Yep I installed Forza 3 LE last week with all the DLC on my original 20GB HD.

Picked up a 120GB yesterday & everything transferred over fine from the 20GB. The transfer cable was included with the 120GB.

So install away with no fear!

im using hdmi and have both discs installed...cant say ive noticed any problems with the sound.

could it be one of your speakers popped/ripped and maybe thats whats causing it ?

Nope neither have and it only happens in Forza3.

by a slip diff. biggest difference you can make to the starting fwd cars. should make winning a lot easier.

How does a diff setting make a difference off of the line? My understanding is that a diff only really makes a significant difference on corners or when one wheel looses traction.
Surely on a straight start both wheels would lose traction at the same time, if not having the diff setup to be lose would be a bad thing - and setting it up to be stiff would keep the power through the other wheel but comprimise the cars turn-in when it comes to cornering?

I'm getting the same issue as PiKe. I hear a popping every now and again, only been playing the game for 2 or 3 hours but I've noticed it maybe half a dozen or so times. I'm running it through HDMI to my TV and Optical to my 5.1 setup, both discs are installed to my 120gb HDD. It isn't particularly annoying but now I listen out for it. I'll check for it again tonight.

I've noticed the sound issue a couple of times. It's a pain as I change gear by ear but doesn't happen enough to be a major concern. It's still very irritating.

Mine popped and 'clipped' early on but seems to have stopped now. I have it installed and nothing has changed.
