***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

Mine should be here tomorrow or Wednesday, finally. :(

I've had a look at a dummy model today and I think it looks even better than the pictures, superb looking device and I love the rubberised back - brilliant.

Very nice size too.

So.......you guys who had the phone a while like it?
Any bad points?

I got mine 2 days after release and Im still loving it :), every thing works as it should and ICS is much much better than anything that came before it, os much so I check hourly to see if anything has come out on XDA for my Galaxy Tab 10.1.

I have no regrets about getting this phone at all and the fact that we are already on the 2nd update shows how quick things are getting pushed out.

I've had it for a month and the only bad thing about it is the camera. Which isn't great. It's OK, but it's not quite as good as it should be. I find it's very easy to take blurry photos.

Other than that, it's the best phone I've ever owned (and that's a long, long list)

Eric Schmidt, Google CEO interviewed in Italy today hinted strongly that Google will be launching a Nexus model for tablets in the next 6 months. Makes sense to me as the Nexus brand of smartphone is a flagship that is meant to show other OEMs what is possible with a new OS. I suggest this might be true with tablet market as well and perhaps it might be timed with a new Operating System to follow Ice Cream Sandwich? Any thoughts or opinions? If true, I will definitely want one as I have held off buying tablet until it gets a Google seal of approval in the same way the Nexus One got two years ago.

highly unlikely it will be a new os, i suspect we will see tweaks on ics, but i would expect another 12 months of it at least

I think Google wanted a lower cost 3G/4G solution, so that tablets could be used out and about. Probably not a 10 inch device, but a 7, with stock ICS on a tablet, for £300. We can all dream

I've had mine for nearly a month now and I love it. It's starting to replace my iPhone 4S as my go to device when I need to use the web or check the news.
Personally, I feel it's the first serious competitor to the iPhone range there has yet been in terms of user experience.

The bad points:
Feels a bit flimsy in the hand
Camera isn't up to snuff
Auto brightness is way too aggressive at dimming the display

Other than those points, I can't really fault it. How much of the good experience is down to the phone and how much is ICS remains to be seen though.

What are most people keeping the brightness at? It's normally at 25% for me but everytime I increase it to 100% just for a looksee, it's always 'wow, this looks awesome' :(
