***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

i have a confession to make, as much as i raged on about getting the nexus i was a little sad at first, as i had kind of got used to the SGS2 and loved those bright colours, i sold it anyway and fell in love with the nexus. had a go on my mates SGS2 the other day and found the colours to be way over the top and the font and text to be massive, the nexus screen is quite fantastic

Going phone shopping this weekend, and i'm more or less decided on getting a Nexus, but I just want to try out a few different phones before I commit to a 2 year deal. I mostly like to browse the internet on my phone when away from home and i'm thinking the high res screen of the nexus would deal best with that.

Yes, the only phone that would beat this at browsing is the Galaxy Note, and the jury is still out on whether it's even a phone - it's huge!

It is very good for browsing, so good it fact that Tesco's didn't have "Killer Elite" on the shelves and ordered it from Amazon then and there.

Most of that Anandtech review is raving about ICS and not the Nexus. I guess it shows you how good ICS is and also how amazing the Samsung Galaxy S II was.

The point of owning a Nexus has always been about getting the updates first, besides it's not like the hardware of a Nexus or a GS2 will be struggling any time soon.

The Nexus is pretty future proofed with a 720p screen, NFC and OTA Google updates.

If anything I'm a little surprised no other phones have got ICS so far.

Well this morning my Galaxy Nexus which is unlocked decided it didn't want to be unlocked any more, and as such I've spent the last hour explaining to some 02 monkey about the issue and finally they have filled in a form to re-unlock the phone which may take several days.

I'd understand if there was a firmware update over night.. but there wasn't? so what the heck happened.

Blocked, or locked? They are two very different things.

Who did you buy it from?

Ahh cheers, was a typo. I meant Unlock. I got it through O2 on there £10 a month for 2 year contract. I have been using my sim only T-Mobile sim card in it pretty much since a week after I got the phone. Leaving the O2 sim card for the parents.

T-Mobile sim works in my spare phone so it's not too bad, just an annoyance as I currently can't access my GalaxyNexus unless I pick up an 02 simcard.
