What speeds are you getting? Their sales assistant told me I would only have 2G if I used their sim, although I don't think he really knew what he was talking about...

Gnex is pentaband so you should be fine. Tmob had a better data package last time I was there: $2/day as opposed to $20/100mb on AT&T

Nothing at all. You must post some pics of your trip when you get back.

Yeah will do bud, having this phone, for checking routes, travel apps, discount codes, and no go zones has been so good, always had full 3g/4g internet on every road and part of the trip

Love this thing! Speaker seems loud enough?

Autobrightness far too dim tho google!

Get the brightness app!

Decided to swap my Nexus as my daily for a Note. The Nexus is a lovely phone which I have had since launch day but the camera really isn't all that compared to the SGS2, and I don't think ICS is quite there yet plus I've had a few app issues (GTA framerate, a few incompatible apps etc.). The Note seems to be the perfect compromise now.

I thought the Note would be too big but I think having the Nexus for a few months has made it feel less so and after a day I already feel at home. The screen on the Note is fantastic and once you get past the pixel density of the Nexus the screen isn't actually much better than the SGS2 (which i also have). With the Nexus soft buttons calling it a 4.65 inch screen is actually a bit misleading, it's not actually much bigger than the SGS2 in real term use.

Sorry, but the Note is just a flat out unfriendly size. It isn't great as a phone due to the size, and it isn't great as a tablet due to the size.

It's a good device but it's a 'one-size-fits-none' sort of thing. The Nexus is right on the limit and in some situations it can be fiddly to handle.

Robbo, different people have different opinions and needs, I know you seem to struggle with this concept. ;)

For me the downsides of the Nexus outweigh the benefits (just), and using it for 3 months has made my hand less worried about the size of the Note. It certainly wasn't a shock to hold like it was when I tried one a couple of months ago.

How do I 'struggle with that concept'?

What I said was entirely accurate. I didn't say it wasn't a good device, just that Samsung have attempted to merge two things together and ultimately they have failed.

Not really entirely accurate. Well, you would have to define 'unfriendly size'. It was too big for me in the end, but it will be ideal for others. I think Em3bbs is just saying that's your opinion, not fact as you claim it to be.

Does anyone know of a tweak or something to add more than 16 apps to a folder on the homescreen?

I've currently maxed out my games folder and don't want to have multiple folders for the same type of apps.

I used to use FolderEnhancer on my iPhone and something like that would be great.

Surely everything is my opinion unless I say otherwise?

Where did I say it was fact?

You didn't state it was fact, you don't really have to.

Q: How much rain fell in London last month -

A1: 30 inches

A2: I would say around 30 inches

Neither state to be fact or opinion, but one is stated as if it is known as a fact.

None of that is relevant to what I said though. Everything I said is my opinion and the general opinion people have towards the device (look at any review/preview/whatever).

Just because something is an unfriendly size doesn't mean nobody will use it or it's rubbish...

If you want to take everything I say as fact, then be my guest. ;)

You have you're opinion, I have mine. Personally I steer clear of making a statement like "the Note is just a flat out unfriendly size" as that is an opinion, stated like it was a fact. Simple as that.
