so problems with loosing connection with network are back again..not long after full reset of the phone...I'm fuming today as there was an important email sent to me at night that I havent received until I woke up and switched WiFi off :/

Think I need to have a chat with O2...or shall I speak to Samsung directly?
Why would you need to switch off WiFi when it had already lost connection?

Tbh, I think it's a Google ICS issue. Would love to hear what Google have to say about it. Have they officially recognized the issue? It's a pretty huge flaw tbh.
I haven't heard about the issue. What is it exactly?

If wifi is on and even though it shows it is connected it isn't...so switching it off makes phone switch to 3g and then I get internet connection back. Same goes the other way around if there is no connection via 3g

I haven't experienced a problem like that. Could it occur with my GN but I haven't noticed it because it fixes itself or does it require manually disconnecting and reconnecting to fix it?

I believe it's actually only the connection to Google services that it drops. I've downloaded podcasts overnight, but only when I wake and force it to open a Google app like Gmail or Talk, does it actually connect in and the icons turn blue again.

in my case there is no connection at all...i can try gmail, browser, other emails, engadget app...anything that requires internet connection and nothing...only switching to wifi/3g helps

Yeah, been getting more of the same lately. Missed 6 emails yesterday afternoon because of it. But I think it's related to the router, my connection's been terrible the past week and that's when it's done it the most.

Been comparing s2 ICS with G Nexus ICS today with mate's handset and s2 ICS is definitely a lot smoother, the better hardware spec definitely comes to help here.

I'll be using pure ICS on the s3 for sure!

'A lot' smoother is an exaggeration and a half. :p

Agreed on the second part though.

Oh it is definitely a lot smoother to my senses, s2 one has no lag anywhere but GN has noticeable stutter when scrolling various lists and things. His phone is on 4.0.2 though but I don't think that matters.

Was his phone set up any differently though? That can make a difference (as you well know).

The Nexus does lag a bit (more stutter really) in places but only after a while when the lists/screens and such are populated with things. The Galaxy S II is generally a similar situation here.

The exception to this is when you enter/exit the app drawer, it's usually a bit juddery there, which is a bit of a poor show as that's one of the more common animations.

Apparently the 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 update makes it massively smoother according to reports, so it could just be the software.
