My saga with Nexus continues....
so after it came back from repair, few days ago I’ve realized that I can barely feel it vibrate...sometimes I cant feel it at all...so another reason to go for repair...again!!!

Is there a 'limit' to how many times phone needs to be repaired before replacing ?? I know I’ve asked before...I'm tempted to ask Jimlad to sort it out for me ;) as he most likely will succeed and I won’t lol

dont want to go back to Hero again....

Where did you get your nexus from?

I keep getting a couple of those annoying 0845 automated message calls on a daily basis. I know I can set the numbers to go to voicemail but I never have voicemail activated on my contract, so any idea what happens if I do this on Vodafone?

Or which call blocker app actually does what it says as that's my other option.

sorry mate just saw this.. if you got it from O2 as i did they said to me they would repair/replace with refurb once.. if the issues arose again it would be a replacement. You really can push them on this, as if you state your issues from the start they will see if you point out that they are not for-filling their contract to you. i get on webchat first (o2) and state the facts.

It has been a while since i posted an update on my signal drop issues, i mentioned before that Samsung were sending someone out to do some testing. They did.

He came and sat for a couple of hours waiting for signal to drop, but he gave me a brand new model first. He said that there are a few things that could be causing these issues, mostly chipset and modem problems. He will get back to me with the full report as he was unable to get it to drop signal, but suffice to say, these handsets have hardware faults.

thats quite a cool story, so you got a brand new one straight away? sweet. I take it you have not heard back yet?

It took a few weeks as i went on holiday, but as soon as we agreed on on a time, he came right over that day. He came last week, so hopefully will hear this week at some stage.

and here is my update.

Ive order a nice 'vintage' nokia for myself to use it as a relpacement phone. It wasn delivered yet, but strted a chat with O2 via their web page.

They offered another repair.....

I refused and said that it is unaceptable.

guy spoke to the manager....

I am expecting a new mobile to e delivered at beginning of next week :)

finally...:)

Have you tried restarting the phone
Mine didn't work until I did.

I didn't, and thought that must be why. However, after restarting and sending a test SMS, the LED flashes pink once, but doesn't repeat at all. I've checked the settings so it should be flashing continuously... Ah well! Maybe an update will change things.

there you go :)

ps when you send the old one back forget to add the battery, i did ;)

It will be interesting to see how long takes for the nexus s to get a fully working version of 4.1, if things turn out the same as it did with the nexus one and 2.3 and the nexus S and 4.0 then I will be put of google phones for good!

It's just an incremental update, nothing like from 2.3 -> 3.0 -> 4.0, so should be quickly available. Most likely will be compiled by the community the same day of the source release. :)

Yeah I know it is a small update but so was 2.3 and google managed to xxxx it up for the nexus one just like they did with the nexus S and 4 (granted a bigger update, but it was exactly the same situation, nexus S released with 2.3, nexus one gets it officially a month or 2 later [due to problems it was delayed] and then when it did get the update, there was still a big problem with battery drain or something and so got pulled for another few months)

The 4.x source should be mature enough where it's unlikely another screw up will happen. They should have a good handle on it all now so you likely won't have anything to worry about.

Of course going on past history I can understand your concerns lol. :)
