***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

Well Westfield E20 doesn't open until 10am tomorrow so I'll have to go after work and not before.

Ill be down at westfield tomorrow, friends bday so took day of work. If i see it there i shall post here and let you guys knows, really hope it is there just so i can use it :D.

Guys I want you advice.

I just got a job with O2 I start soon - as a result I am entitled to a super cheap unlimited everything tariff but it has to be done in an O2 store at the time of contract signup or upgrade.

There is also a 30% friends and family discount I can use on a contract I get anywhere including phones4u. I have also pre-ordered a Galaxy Nexus SIM free.

Now assuming that the Nexus is available tomorrow in Phones4u then I would have to sign up to a new contract as I can't upgrade yet (2 weeks to go). If I end up waiting 2 weeks then I can get the Nexus or whatever other phone I want for super cheap and only have one contract.

If I sign up tomorrow in phones4u then I will have an extra contract - I would be crazy to cancel my existing contract when I can have it for super cheap in 2 weeks but that means I could end up with 2 contracts that I don't really want or use - but a Galaxy Nexus this week.

Then I have my existing pre-order that I can cancel or change to another phone or just keep that £515 in my bank.

My gadget lover love tells me screw it get a new contract - and change that pre-order to a Note and then in 2 weeks I can get another phone as part of the upgrade and sell whatever I bought to get some cash back.

My logical brain says wait 2 weeks upgrade my contract to super cheap and just keep my pre-order. Except that means I have to sit and watch phones4u selling the Nexus for 2 weeks!!!!

It is so difficult to decide what to do... help?! (PS I realise in the grand scheme of things this isn't a big deal but the thought of a phone with almost the same pixel density as my iphone 4S but a bigger screen and HD just excites me more than sex...!)

I've just spoken to someone I know at P4U and they have confirmed that officially, no stores have stock of the handset at all, and delivery to customers will be on the 17th.

So it looks like it was rubbish unless that's wrong (very unlikely).

Is this the store staff tariff or the other one for office? I'd probably get the staff one anyway (is it still 50%?).

To the person who said about getting it on Orange and was told CPW - this is true, it's been classified as a generic which means we will support handsets sold by third parties (p4u, cpw).

Amon_ra is right by the way, the way the menu button is all over the place (top right, bottom, sometimes hidden, hardly consistent and often with a different icon too) sucks and Google really should have seen this coming as it was a problem with HC tab apps too.

A dedicated search button is a waste i like how it is on the galaxyS II where by holding the menu button for half a second opens up the quick search.

Yeah me too... but ICS doesn't even seem to have that, if I am not mistaken.

I'm going into P4U at lunch to see if they have one in. I hope they do so that I can have a good play and compare with my S2.

I wanted to see what kind of deals they were offering so phoned up and the best they could offer was 300mins, unlimited texts, 500MB data on an 18month contract for £36 a month and the handset would be free.

That seems like a fairly decent deal?

I won't be able to get a review handset until the 18th at the earliest so if I did go the upgrade route on Vodafone and the Nexus turns out to be significantly better than my S2 then I could sell the S2 I suppose.

These are just ideas of course :p

Local P4u don't have any and they say release is next month...

I think I will just wait for the review handset before jumping into any further contracts :p I do want to go sim free again and just drop the tariff to a cheap sim only package.

First of all phones4u not knowing when the phone is out shouldn't be surprising. I'm surprised they even know how to use a phone considering some of the people they employ!

The truth is there are huge displays up saying Galaxy Nexus in their stores. No way they put those up 10 days before the release date as that is a waste of space where they can't display anything else.

They will have the nexus this week. I'm sure of it. They probably won't even know until it's on the display but it will be there.
