***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

Had a change of heart about my upgrade options and now sticking with o2 (friends 30% discount :D)

Spoke to o2's online support zombies the other day and got this response:

So does this mean it's coming on Monday at o2 do you think?

Interesting, but I wouldn't trust anyone about it at the moment. :p

Watch 2:05 to 2:15 of that video and tell me what you notice... :o

FYI, Repeated calls from 0845 026 8992 are from Phones4U regarding the Nexus (if you asked to be informed). Chances are you will never finds out as they Constantly hang up when you answer without saying a word and ring back.

It seems very very likely that at some point next week the Nexus will be available either on contract or sim free. The question is who will have it first? Phones4u? O2 or the online retailers?

I got my Galaxy Note today and I love it but honestly it just makes me even more excited for the Nexus! I placed a new pre-order today using the Gummobile eBay store and I had a 10% off eBay voucher so it only cost me £485 - not bad! A saving of £57!

I managed to speak to them today after their repeated phone calls at odd times of the day. They told me they can't offer me the handset sim-free, it is only available as part of a contract.

Tempted to order this via P4U. Anyone had any success haggling with them? Wouldn't mind going for 18m contract provided I don't pay more (for the phone) than the 24m ones are.

Or, with experience, is it safe to say waiting a few more weeks will see a drop in the one-off phone prices (with the contract)?

Im due an upgrade on the 17th so I imagine I will get a Nexus even though I will already have one SIM free because that is the phone with the highest resale value.

My issue of course comes if it is available before then which is I expect going to happen with Phones4u

Supposedly from the 4G LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. After more than 5 hours of heavy (“lots of surfing” and brightness at max) of use there is still 45% left on it. We shall see.

There hasn't been much mention of the battery so far, I'm hoping it will be good.

All I want (and I think is reasonable) is one day of very heavy use or 2-3 days with light-moderate use.

I don't think many Android phones can scale that well tbh. Obviously it depends on what you have running, but generally there are too many things going on in the background for it to last 3 times longer because you're not 'using' it as much.

Again, different people will get different results, so maybe you will be able to.

"It's out later this month"

Good news for me, I'll be in the US 18th to 28th and it'll probably be cheaper over there :)

Oh, then he's just said "a little bit later this year" :(
