I'm not sure if I like this phone or not. May just need to get used to it I suppose.

Don't like the default keyboard and can't seem to get Thumb Keyboard working correctly.
I also miss the hard keys of my SG2, especially the menu key.

Size and weight have surprised me though, I find it much better in my hand than the SG2 and don't feel it's any heavier.

Having an animated wallpaper does seem to add a little stutter/lag when opening prog menu but nothing to bad.

May just take a little getting used too

is the internal memory a full 16gbs? so its not like split into partitions e.g. 1gb for apps etc? also anyone seen reviews aginst the sg2? i'm in need of a new phone but dunno if i should get this or the sg2?

I just popped into a 3 shop to see if they had any demo phones to have a play on. They were the most unhelpful bunch of sales people I've ever come across.
Me: Hi, have you got any Google Nexus' in?
Him - glancing at another sales guy: Yes I think we do, 3 in fact.
Me: OK great, do you have a Demo one?
Him - again taking orders from another sales person: No, sorry 'coz then it would be second hand and we only sell new ones.
Me: ????? He totally missed the point of the question, DEMO PHONE!
Me: Do you have these SIM Only to buy now?
Him - agian taking orders from someone else: No, just 24mth contract.

They've got demo models of every other high end phone on display, but not this. Bonkers.

This is a lot more common than you'd imagine - phones are sent from HQ (well, stock factories) specifically to be demos and if they don't have spares to do this then the demos get delayed.
So what is the script with the battery in this thing to get the most out of it?

Should you let it run out then fully recharge it, should you just plug it in for a bit every time you are near a charger or does it not really matter what you do?
no need to fully charge or discharge these days, I top up from low, medium or at work just leave it plugged in. Nothing hurts li-ion really.

Good to know.

My Palm pre said to top up the battery whenever possible but I assumed that it's because it couldn't get through half a day without shutting down.

If the Nexus has fairly poor battery life it'll still last longer than my Pre. :D

just wanted to make sure I didn't kill it.

this is tempting!, 12 months and i have F + F discount, was this easy deal to get? did you get it through retentions or did you go to upgrade first and say you want to leave etc? how did you get the phone for £100?

im currently on the original iphone simplicity tariff 900 mins true unlimited net ;) after discount paying 18quid a month, got this around iphone 3g times, i dont really want a 18/24 month contract..wouldnt mind paying the price quoted above for 12 months for the GN...

called sales, they wouldn't budge, so asked for pac code, and retentions sorted it. They said 150, I told them good bye, they dropped it to 100, I was content haha

It all looks very good.

Now where has Google Earth gone?

Very interesting..

I'm just back from the 3 store.

I spoke to a woman who said that she would keep one back for me. I arrived in the store and she then told me that they weren't even checked into the system. This annoyed me due to the fact I had to take a huge detour on the way home to swing past the store. She THEN told me I couldn't keep one back wtf??!!

Nevertheless the 3 store in Dundee's Overgate have 4 PAYG in stock. Thankfully P4U are right next door so I will try there (with a print out of their tweet and all)
