**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

my thought being that the pixel 1 XL will continue to be sold and drop down to £630, not that the pixel 2 XL will be cheaper than the pixel is currently on sale for. Perhaps someone read the article wrong but £630 makes no sense for a 2nd gen. For first then maybe

oh not a chance, didnt some hardware person from google say that its going to be an expensive phone (see if i can find where i read that).

yeah think they are converting US dollars to GBP depends what route google go down. Id take a Standard Pixel 2 64gb for £650 though. XL is probably too big for me.

Waiting for the standard comments come Oct 4th

£........ ?????? " I am out"

Whatever the price, they will have to justify it to me. It could very well be a £950 phone, but for that I want to understand the high price.
Taking a oneplus5, sticking a v30 screen on and installing plain oreo isn't a £950 phone.

I will sadly buy it wherever cost is.

Didn't buy pixel 1 because of the looks, pixel 2 XL seems to look better.

Though if it looks like a turd I'll miss it again :p

a lot of these articles are converting what they think the us price will be when be more like a straight pound for a dollar (like what apple is doing). I hope it does come in at £630 but seriously doubt it.

Not a chance in hell, it will be closer to £1000 than £700.

Hmm, if you have the over/under at £850 for the entry level XL, I would definitely take the under. Given last years was £720, I don't see it being that much more. Given it will have 64GB, I would take a Pixel XL 2 at £750 hopefully.

The two looks as bad as the one. Pretty much looks the same from the images I have seen? Essentially an iPhone clone without a home button

I love stock android, but also love the looks of the iPhone. Pixels look horrible.
There's only been one. ;) (OK two, but one design)

The iPhone hasn't been a looker for a good few years now. The iPhone X has tried and looks better than the regular iPhone, but has still fallen short (startups (Elephone) and cheap Chinese knockoffs (Xiaomi) have done a better job).

I hated the Nexus 6P's black band in photos and videos, yet in person it's still quite a pretty phone and you barely notice it the band.

What Google missed last year was using the glass section to enable wireless charging or to give it a real purpose (other than radio). It was like they just didn't want to give it the usual radio bands so went out of their way to do so without actually making it in any way useful. The Pixel 2 looks a bit better and hopefully has a worthwhile purpose.

PS Is it just me who actually quite liked the Android Police logo on it? I quite liked the minimalistic etched look it gave the render and wouldn't mind if Google had tried something soft and barely noticeable too.

Those specs were what we were all expecting, but my original comment still holds. That is NOT a £950 phone (if that's what it is).

When oneplus can make a phone with almost the same specs for less than half the price. Does inc an oled screen and better cameras really make up the extra?

I'm pleased to see the word camera(s), god help them if they both don't have ois. I mean IF, IF google charge £950 they damn well better be the best camera phones on the planet.

Let's just say that if the oneplus 5 had ois I'd have already bought one. The camera blur is what put me off this time (sent my op3 back because of it)...and the screen upside down fiasco.
