**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

My GF has the S8 as well and comparing against the P2XL the only thing I can say is better (imo) is the lack of tinting on the viewing angles on the S8. I hate her S8 in practically every other way though, starting from the stupid edges through to the annoying Bixby button.
 
White is white , against an s8 the pixel is a very dull display and the screen is clear. I turned on saturated just to see if it made a difference. The pixel is quite a blue white which only becomes evident against the s8. Almost no tint on moving the screen side to side. Still love my one and I wouldn't swap it but it isn't as good a screen.
 
Found two (or they've failed) further dead pixels now on my screen. Two down the center of the screen, and one to the bottom right. Do they even get QA'd?

Roll on the replacement.

Wait until summer where you get to see the reason for the blue tint. I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs under bright sun and with sun glasses. My understanding is that's why they went with the style screen
 
Funny, I was thinking to post this earlier. I was driving a week or so back, it was actually a very sunny day and I thought about how nice and clear I could see the screen through my shades :cool:
 
Still limping through on my broken xl2. Got 3 more days in Belgium before I can send in for repair.

I can charge the phone via a usb cable on my pc or using a usb outlet. Plug in any fast charger or wall charger and the phone won't charge and just boot loops.

The version of play services on my phone was 11.9.75 (940-182402865). I found a copy of 12.2.17 (940-186052348) and updated it and the phone found the March update after.

Quick turn around, They received the defective device today & have sent out a replacement device, Hoping it should be back with me tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.
