**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

Yeah I did think about the OnePlus 6T but it seems a bit overpriced seeing as it's an outgoing model and the camera thing would be hard to swallow. In all honesty though, I feel like I fancy a change, at least for a bit.

Yeah can totally understand that :-) The camera on the XS is a definite step down from the Pixel 2 XL, but the telephoto option adds a lot more versatility

That’s probably the most upsetting thing of all - I got the 2XL primarily for its camera prowess and it has never let me down there, finding a replacement with a camera that can match it seems nigh on impossible so I guess I’ll just have to compromise.

Today is a new day and as usual I feel like I should give it another chance but I just know I’m going to end up annoyed with it again, it’s a case of when, not if....

Must admit I'm happy to leave my ROMing days behind me, even though I have wondered if it would make the phone better, but from past experience, its very rare that phones are better with custom ROMs, usually they just trade one set of issues for another (usually worse!) and it rarely solves anything in the end, except wasting my time.

Yeah just be careful, make sure you know what you're doing, XDA and Youtube are your friends. I've never had a bricked phone but I've had some close calls so just be prepared for that.

I have found that disabling Digital Wellbeing (never used it anyway) has given me some extra battery life and possibly a smidge more performance. A lot of people were doing the same trick on the Pixel 3’s to improve performance on there too.

Just switched it off on my phone to see if it makes a difference

I figured I may as well try it since I never used the function anyway. I’ve felt as though the phones battery life had took a turn for the worse but this seems to have restored it to more or less what it was until recently (maybe when this was implemented!).

Well, I don’t know what you reckon, but a week after disabling DW I definitely think the phones performance has improved, it’s just smoother, the battery lasts better and RAM management suddenly became a non-issue.

I’ve noticed this advice is now everywhere and works on all Pixels by all accounts.
