**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

64GB Pixel 2 XL, ships December! For a phone that hardly anybody knows about outside of tech nerds that's very poor indeed. Did they only make a few dozen pre launch !!

You might find it available sooner at Carphone Warehouse or EE? Also there are really big shortages of component parts these days. I posted recently for example that the OLED 6 inch display screens with 18:9 aspect ratio are in very short supply which is likely to last into 2018.

On the "unlimited storage", looks better than your comment. They say:

"Free, unlimited original-quality storage for photos and videos taken with Pixel through the end of 2020, and free, unlimited high-quality storage for photos taken with Pixel afterwards."

Wasn't the deal with original Pixel free photos and videos storage for life? I've got loads of video stored, so not sure what would happen if there's a time limit?

What a mess. It's the Pixel all over again in terms of availability. They've really done an excellent job today of making Samsung and Apple devices look appealing.

With all their 'machine learning', you'd have thought they'd have more of a clue how fans would take today's events.

I'm just thankful for the Xiaomi Mi A1, the new Nexus.

Camera won't be as good, but my 6P (or my DSLR) will still do for when cameras do matter. I'm not spending £650 more for a camera.

My Sony MDR-1000X is arguably the best noise cancelling, wireless Bluetooth headphones on the market right now. Bonus point, it also comes with a cable so you can use it with device such as Nintendo Switch which do not heave bluetooth.

So yes, it will work with everything.

There you go, problem solved. Get the Sony MDR-1000X, it even comes with that little adaptor for airplanes.

If it can do both, then that's a big plus. Wasn't aware of headphones that were like that. I have the Sony MDR-1As at the moment which I was playing around with the idea of replacing, so will take a look at the 1000X. Thanks!

+1 for the MDR-1000X, cracking pair of headphones!

My Bluedio T2S's do either BT or wired too. The cheap option of course compared to Sony's, but excellent value for the money given the sound quality.

Would the standard Pixel 2 be an improvement over my S7 edge? thats the question, visually certainly not but vanilla android tempts me and I can do a straight swap if i paid my contract off (with my phone) and take another.

If you're considering physical appearance as a contributing factor then you're on the wrong forum.

Personally I'd pay extra not to have the Samsung edge.

The only thing I've seen about the Mini is that it's via a redemption code. So I assume Google will email the codes out idc.

what exactly is so special about this? every hands on comment talks about one thing only, the camera. That pretty much sums up the fact that nothing else in the phone is worthy of mention or praise. Its design is utterly hideous, its specs are no better than current phones on the market and its 900 quid. wtf are people losing their minds over here?

Design is subjective, I quite like it. The camera is hopefully the best on any phone... ever. Fuse video stabilisation, stock Android, Google Lens, always on screen, squeezy frame, small bezels, stereo front facing speakers, fastest FPS on market (maybe... the Honor 9 is silly fast) P OLED screen with amazing contrast.

Same specs as other phones on the market, that also cost £900?

Also, who's losing their mind? Personally I just decided it's my best option now, so I've ordered one.
