Yea the blue is out of stock, I didn't think that colour would go out of stock first, reminds a little bit of the the 50s decor, google 1950s decor and appliances, to me it almost looks like a 50s fridge door :)

The Black one is saying 17th Oct and White 5-6 weeks. Going for the black one or holding out?

I went and checked out plenty of phones today to see if anything else caught my eye. Not really fan of the larger phones like the Note 8 with the wider and taller displays.

I tried the iPhone 8+ but found the portrait mode annoying as it zoomed in x2 which can be tight sometimes and kept asking me to reframe or it could not really do the bokeh until it was happy but rest of the phone seemed decent.

As for the Android phones only Pixel will do as the others bloat is just annoying and it is looking like the normal Pixel 2 over the XL 2.

Anyone concerned with the 2700mAh battery? Will this be enough to last a full day with moderate to heavy use or will I likely be having to top up and charge. Silly they didn't make it more.
 
Just a thought, I've just ordered 8 (for two of us) USB Type-C to 3.5mm audio adaptors from Aliexpress for all of $12. Will take 30 to 50 days to come, which should be fine.

I think battery life will be similar for both. While the smaller one has a smaller battery the screen is also smaller and lower resolution. With oled tech and the newer chipset both should be good enough to last a day with a reasonable amount of screen time.
 
I never thought of it that way about the battery and screen sizes. I think will just bite and get the Pixel normal in black. It does everything I need it to do and if battery lasts all day then I'd be happy with that.
 
Bonkers that the XL pandaguin is the one they advertise everywhere (including the huge digital billboards at Old Street station) and it's the one with the worst availability. 'Ships December'? Is Google serious? How can they not get this stuff right?

I did notice they put the black one on the photo of it showing a movie playing

But it's the best looking one! :D

It seems the huge bezels on the regular Pixel are so offputting they seem to have avoided using it for any of the marketing..
 
Hmm, well looks are subjective obviously.

But I see a lot of others liking the White/Black model too so it probably works best for the marketing. Makes it stand out as well to casual observers reading the ads.
