**** The Official Google Pixel 3 Thread ****

Bluetooth range on this is better than on my OP5. Very chuffed with that.

The quality of the haptic feedback is great too. And it's nice having front facing stereo speakers again. And importantly, sRGB calibration is better on the P3. The colours and clarity is excellent.

Also the P3 has a level of touch sensitivity and slickness that the OP5 can't match. Loving the dinky size too.

Negatives... Battery life and charging speed is far superior on my old OP5.

Curious on the charging speed I can pretty much charge mine from flat to 90% in less than a hour. 20 mins gives me 40-45 %

What speed did you get on the OP5 ?

Oneplus 5 has a bigger battery and can charge from 5 to 60% in 30 mins. The pixel with a smaller battery does about 40% on the same time and gets hotter while doing it.

Shows 40% in 30mins for 3XL. 90% took 1hr28m.

Hello everyone, so pixel 3 is £639 at cpw at the moment and from work I can get a further 8% of this price but not at cpw rather curry’s do you think it’s decent then at £587 without the google stand which I won’t use?
So a few more questions for anyone that’s got a pixel 3 , how slippery a phone is it? Does the back get scratched easily ? Is it a easy one handed use? the iPhone X is just a bit too big for my small hands and this is causing thumbs and wrist pain. Thanks for any answers. Just to add the local cpw hasn’t got any in store or display so can’t he play around with one.

Well that's me just got my 3XL that I ordered on the 24th of November. What a PITA it's been to get MPD to put the order through correctly to Vodafone, they couldn't organise a **** up in a brewery on time to save themselves. The only good thing to come out of it all is that it will cost me £888 all in for the 128GB model, just glade it's all over now.

I love the fact that the screen is super black when off and blends in with the bezels. Not sure if it's the same on the XL.

Edit- More so than all previous OLED phones I've had.

I didn't think mine without the case was slippery at all, in fact it feels great to hold but the reason I picked up the official fabric case was due to how easy it was to scratch the back (even being really careful). The official cases are great by the way albeit a little pricey.

Went to Currys/PC World to get it replaced, unsurprisingly they didn't have any in stock AND want the Pixel Stand as well, despite the fact its only the phone I want replacing...

hello so I have got pixel 3 and it feels great I don't know Google managed to get it this good and it feels better than the iPhone X for me.
so a couple of question for the experts,
1. is there anyway to view pictures on device rather having to connect to photos app?
2. is there a good notes app like iOS notes that has encyption and password protected?
thanks

Whats wrong with the photos app? Anyway I used to use QuickPic but I generally dont bother much now as Photos does what I need it to do, but QuickPic was excellent.

I use Google Keep, I'm pretty sure it's encrypted but I don't think you can add password protection, you shouldn't really need that anyway as your phone should be protected anyway.

Nothing is wrong with photos app
Anyway the pixel 3 is going back there is a visible gap between the back and where meets the frame in the top right and left corner. Was contemplating a exchange but with holidays and everything it’s only business days then I am looking at 2 weeks for that option so instead gone for a full refund. I hope they don’t kick up a fuss as I have been using is for a few hours setting it up and all that.

Shows how over-inflated the asking prices are becoming for phone nowadays, it's ridiculous.
Reminds me of buying cars - stupid sticker price then arguing for "discounts" until you get the real price.

Agreed. I think the influx of high end phones at a lower price point will impact eventuality.

I am surprised Google went in at the price they did. They could have undercut the market seeing as hardware sales are small fly for Google. Apple on the the other hand are based on hardware for profit.

John Lewis have the pixel 3 down £589 now. I still haven’t been able to send my defective unit back yet something is wrong with the returns department apparently they can’t process returns at the moment.
